im currently wondering waht is the best pistol an pistoleer can use my currrent is a rep blaster if there is one better please reply

There is no such thing as a "best" pistol overall. It will change drastically depending on whether or not you're fighting in PvE or PvP, whether the target has an armor rating, what resistances the target has to various types of damage, what your skill mods are, etc..

As far as the Republic Blaster goes, well, it's been bugged forever now, and in it's current form, it has horribly bugged range modifiers, as well as the fact that everyone has the Republic Blaster certification as a standard certification, just like the CDEF weapons. Since the gun is double-bugged, and both bugs *help* players, then everyone in the world is using them. Hopefully they'll be fixed soon.

Read the previous reply, you are asking a question that cannot be answered with a simple "xxx is the best pistol to use."

Most pistols have their strengths and weakness in varied circumstances, what is good for once circumstance in terrible for another.

I current have a DX2, FWG5, Republic Blaster, SR Combat & Tangle all ready on my hotkey bar for various situations.

Republic blaster is the best overall pistol to use, with huge damage and extremely uber accuracy modifiers at virtually any range.

A pistol no one gives love is the SCOUT BLASTER

I got one that does 100-197 dmg 1.9 speed (not krayt or any other stuff just dmg sliced "payed 15k")

It also takes no HAM so spam away its great pve im surprised no one else uses them

I use scout pistols all the time, Republic blaster miss a ton...which isn't good when you miss lowblow or panic shot in pvp

i use scatter pistols in bh line and just torso shot like crazy and its easy for pistoleer cus it pistol xp lol

Pre nerf FWG5 sliced for damage with a +33% max damage power up is my favourite at the moment... but the decay rate on FWG5s is just silly compared to other pistols, so I save it for the right circumstances.... horses for courses.

There is no best, as the second poster alluded too, and everyone else promptly ignored. The best pistol to use is always the pistol you pick after you /examine your target.

You can pack

DX2 - Acid (AP1 - Must have for Rancor Hunts)

Fwg5 - Heat

Republic - Energy (AP1)

Tangle - Stun

Striker - Kinetic

That pretty much covers all the damage types you can do. Get one of each and know your targets...

All our other pistols are energy (please correct me if I am wrong, publish 6 doesnt count yet btw) Scout, DH17, Power5, SRCombat (ap1), DL44 and Metal DL44 are all energy. Any one of those could sub for your republic I guess, but your republic with have have AP1. I suggest a scout for weak targets and a republic for stronger targets with armor.

Rep Blaster is my new toy hehe

In Pvp its better damage less hits

For the longest time since iv been a master pistoleer for acouple months now I used a scout blaster you just can't beat the speed and in pvp you hit more.

So it depends on what your useing it for and what skills you have if your useing lowblow or panic use your scout "and there are some really nice Scout Blasters out there"

The rest of the guns are junk if ya ask me. I see no use for a fwg its ham cost just aint worth it when you can geta scout thats the same speed and damage and has a less ham charge.

Dx2 are the same deal but there do have LAP but then again so do the rep Blaster.

If your going to master pistoleer use scout untill u hit master then switch to the replublic.
