Thread: Did we get some stealth love?

I was running around today, and it seemed that life was much easier than normal for me. Wasn't taking on anything that difficult (except some tusken captains and warlords), but it seemed I was putting out more damage and using less HAM. Actually downed a whole batallion (about 10) of stormtroopers in 15 seconds! Didn't do any scientific tests but overall things seemed better.

I know somebody already mentioned the fanshot multiplier going up (or was it delay going down?) In any case, are there other instances of possible stealth love you have recognized? Is the combat balance being trickled in? If that is so then surely some other professions (won't name names here ) got some stealth nerfing!

Anything is possible, I'm inclined to think you got lucky. I haven't noticed anything at least. Why they would spend time increasing our damage (before the CB no less) rather than just fix a special or two is beyond me. Even harder to explain would be increasing damage on a special we haven't reported any major problems with. This is also the kind of thing I think they would really want to take credit for in the patch notes.

Everything is proceeding according to plan... (though if you don't read that thread from the beginning, I look like a total ass there)

Nothing, that we've confirmed. A couple of "hey, I think it does more damage" posts, and a lot of posting that it's the special of choice to use on lairs now.

I was never aware that Stopping Shot ever out-damaged torso Shot. After all, torso shot has a 3x dmg multiplier whereas stopping has 5x. At least, that is what I have heard.

PS If you were being sarcastic, disregard what I wrote. I've never been good at telling if people are sincere or not

Well don't forget kids, thats your specials vary in effectiveness depending on your weapon and speed.

HealthShot1 is the best DPS you have (until it hits the speed cap) becuase of its low delay. Not a lot of people seem to know that. But then as you start climbing above ... I think its about +50 Pistol Speed on a 2.0 weapon... Healthshot1 gets left behind, and eventually StoppingShot becomes your highest DPS. Hell people are posting BH/Pistol/Smug templates where Last Ditch is firing at the speed cap!

So

Take the blue pill,Ô
Play SWG, never dual-wield your pistols and believe whatever you want to believe.
Take the red pill,Ô
Play MxO, and I will show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.

SWG was never the game I wanted it to be, even before the NGE. All the NGE did is take away what gameplay SWG actually did have.

So what I'm trying to say is, yesterday Fanshot may not have been your best special becuase of either your low speed, or your weapon's.

One thing you should remember ViolentAngel is that even though Stopping shot will have your highest DPS, it will only have a certain chance of hitting the health pool (50% I believe). With health shot 2 however, you will hit the health pool 100% of the time. So even if you have a 1000 DPS with Stopping shot, it will hit the health pool3 times out of 6, the action 2 out of 6 and the mind once out of 6, since it is random, whereas health shot 2 will hit health every time. At least, that is my understanding of it. Correct me if I am wrong.

I think it was Health 50%, Action 35%, and Mind 15%, but dividing it into sixths does come out to be very close to that.

An additional element is that all shots(both targeted and random)actually only deal 80% of the damage to the pool they hit. The remaining 20% gets split between the other two pools. This isn't true for DOT damage of course.
