On Tc i was going through the pistols from the frog to see what ones i want to get for my pistoleer/dancer on Eclipse. My two favorites were the intimidator and the alliance disrupter. I went back to se when i could use them and was disgusted beyond belief. The intimdator is certed at master sqyad leader, i can understand this, SL has needed some love for ages. But CM getting the cert for the Alliance diruptor! I was sick to my stomach, since when did CMs ever use pistols? I know i can say, most CMs i see ingames, are either fencers, riflemans, or docs. So why do they get THE coolest looking pistol, which dnies many rebel roleplayers who dont want CM. Yet the FWG5 is non-cert? Please switch the two, just for roleplay's sake even if it cant be done to give pistols some love.

Well, I hadn't cared too bad because the Pistoleers were getting a master Level Dl-44, which is the most Iconic Pistol in the Star wars Universe.

Lo and behold I logged in today and it is now certed for Master Smuggler.

is that a mistake or didI miss a memo?

I suppose it's iconic because Han Solo used it, and we know what he was.

Ok now today as of logging into Test Center the DL 44 XT now has a combat rating to use and does not require a master skill box.

Guess what? So does the DE 10 now. Requires Combat level 54.

As intended or a bug?

I was testing a melee character, and could equipa DE 10.

So is the DE 10 no longer the providence of Pistoleers only?

So a skilled Heavy Weapons expert for example, experienced in the use of flame throwers, could pick up an advanced pistol and use it as well as someone who had spent time learning the use of close combat weapons?

Stupidity.

With regards to RPing a Combat Medic and using an Alliance Blaster....

I was under the Impression that the Rebel cause was something of an underdog (the entire rebel fleet couldn't go toe to toe with just the section of the Imp navy that was guarding the Deathstar in EP6.) Be that as it may, fighters will pick up ANY weapon that they can get their hands on. It's history, inStar Warsand real life....

- In Star Wars - Didn't Luke and Han pick up some Stormie armor and Carbines in EP4 ?

- In real life - Even the soldiers of the mighty Super Power, the united States, picked up AK-47s and SKSs during Vietnam.

So, when RPing, just say you looted it from the still warm body of a Storm Trooper. Or you were part of a Rebel raid on an Imperial storage facility. Or you bought it from a smuggler for more than you should have. Whatever.... I think there are some great RP oportunities there.

A pistoleer is more than the weapon he wields. The heavy weapon expert would miss more, and not be able to fire it as fast as a pistoleer. The pistoleer will also know how to position his body to not be hit as often. And he will know a few tricks on where to put the shots to be most effective.

Comparing the commado to a brawler when it comes to pistols. The commando will have general ranged modifiers of speed and accuracy. The brawler will not. So the commando will hit more often than the brawler, but a pistoleer will hit most often with the pistol.

Yes, everyone can pulla trigger. And a weapon powerpack is a weapons powerpack. The same waya 9mm bullet is a 9mm bullet, dont matter whom or what fires it.

But only the pistoleer gets the defense mods, accuracy mods and special moves

Well put, I get your point there. And in actual fact, it kind of makes sense, that someone experienced in combat would be able to adapt to other situations, picking up those guns as they were avalable.

Hmm, maybe there is hope.

Actually I think the flame thrower would have a little less of a range, than a pistol would . But to the point I am a bit glad, I wanted to go master bh, and master carbineer with a bit of pistoleer, but I was torn because I love padded armor, and carbines. But I also love my de-10. So if I cn use my de-10 still i would be happy.
