If so what kind are you putting on your pistols now to get best results post conversion?

Don't know for sure, but last night I went and put +16%/+32% damage PuPs on eveything I own with a barrel just in case.

I believe during tests that the powerups DID affect conversions. I'm not sure if they fixed this (hopefully they did, its a bit unfair), but I went ahead and put Max Dam/Min Dam Powerups on all my pistols.
Someone had suggested that with the new CU speed calculation that speed would be more important and they were going to put speed powerups on their weapons. But When I looked at the Bloodfin Test Center my 3.6 speed DE-10 had converted to 2.7 speed, and my 2.6 speed DE-10 had converted to liek 2.5 speed. It doesn't seem like speeed converts over that well, so I'd go with the damage powerups.

I don't have the exact stats but it looks like my weapons with p/u converted higher than the ones without. Not by a whole lot but by some. I had several identical DX-2s and DH-17s in my inventory and safe deposit box. All of the ones with power ups prior to conversion are now better than the other ones.

Looks like they didn't fix the bug, though it was reported several times during testing.
Having a PUP on your weapon at the time of conversion DID effect the finalnumbers.
Some people are also reporting the weapon still thinks it has a PUP on it, and won't accept another (though examining it doesn't show any on it, and you can't remove it). While others report no problems putting a new PUP on these "perma-PUP'd" weapons.
Lame.
