Thread: Thoughts on pistols after CU

I've only played two nights now after the CU so I might be missing something here. What I've noticed as a Master Pistoleer is that I'm only using one pistol, my modified republic blaster. Pre CU I used an average of 4 pistols and sometimes 5 depending on the creature/npc resists. Now it looks as though you find your best dps weapon and thats all you'll use. This actually makes combat less fun as there is no reason to use any other pistols. Am I missing something here? Let me know your thoughts. Thanks!

There is only energy and kinetic damage now, and secondaryelemental damage of Acid, Heat, Cold or Electric.
To start off with, an FWG5 for kinetic damage and a Republic Blaster or DX2 for Energy damage is all you need, elemental damage doesnt seem to add much.

But my point is energy or kenetic doesn't matter anymore at least with creatures. They no longer have resists/vulnerabilities to different types of damage. Of course this would be different in PvP depending on what armor a player was wearing.

I've been trying it out, but it would be nice to think that vs creatures energy was best and vs NPC's kinetic was best.
Just have to try it out a few times but I did pop some similar NPC's with similar DPS FWG5 and DX2 and I didnt see much difference.
