pistols is damn fun but too early to get a feel for it post CU myself so far. wish I could tell you more.

From what I have seen so far in the game..Pistoleer is going to be ranged for groups more than soloing now. I think that is what they were meaning by Crowd Control. We kinda keep everything from getting too far away from the group but using our stopping shots and hitting multiple targets with our AoE cone shots. Soloing is possible, just not like it was in the old days. The days of taking on 12 creatures at a time with Fan Shot are over. To do missions now, it's one vs one and you have to think about your shots now and not spam same shot over and over. For me, this is making the game alot more fun. For others they hate it. I guess the best advice I can give ya is..try it out. You can respect again after 12 hours for the first two weeks if you don't like it, then go to something else. It would be cool too if you don't like it, for you to come back to the boards and in a constructive way tell others why you didn't like it. It helps others and it's a more likely way for the Devs to see what is wrong with the profession in your opinion..than for someone to come in and say - It don't work anymore, I hate it...at least your letting them know the reasons why you don't like it and they will look at it more closely if enough people would do this.

You can drop most of doc and pick up a second melee profession that will give you more moves to use with TK.... Pikeman is the melee version of Pistoleer and will get you some nice tanking ability.
