Thread: FS Skill Tree Question

Two answers:
1) Dont do it. FS skills don't count towards CL level so you will be forced to group with a CL80 player any time you want to PvE high level content.

2) Get FS Ranged Speed if you don't care about the above or they fix it some time.
It's meant for PvP. I want know ifAccuracy or Spd is more essential to take my opponent down faster.
I thought so too, due to diminishing returns.... Thks

Well, you can get +12 General Ranged Speed or +12 General Ranged Accuracy.
With your template you have:
+60 General Ranged Speed
+45 Pistol Speed (+105 speed total with a pistol)
+50 Carbine Speed (+110 speed total with a carbine)
+210 General Ranged Accuracy
+40 Pistol Accuracy (+250 accuracy total with a pistol)
+65 Carbine Accuracy (+275 accuracy total with a carbine)
You probably won't notice +12 accuracy but +12 speed may make a difference.

FS skills won't count towards your combat level, as BadgerSmaker said.
But it's a moot point anyway, since Master Bounty Hunter and Master Pistols will already give you Level 80, which is currently the maximum level.
As for my recommendation - FS speed. Accuracy will also help, but you already get some bonus accuracy when using Pistols. If you're an MBH as well though, you have other weapons like the Czerka Dart Carbine and (eventually) the Proton Carbine. Extra speed with those so you get more shots off at range before swapping to pistols if your opponent closes should be rather handy. ![]()
Not many people seem to be aware of the fact that FS Ranged Speed and Ranged Accuracy have been broken for a long time. They don't do anything. I've got a thread going on the FS forum right now where I'm trying to figure out what's the most useful branch to fillconsidering that fact, and asking if anybody has tested to see if it's been fixed post-CU, but so far nobody seems to know.
I'm trying to decide if I should dump my FS Melee Defense line (I already dumped Ranged Defense today to pick up some CM skills), considering the stats I already have as a MP/MBH/novice CM, and re-grind the points elsewhere in FS. Any opinions would be welcome.
Let's look at this issue from another perspective and see if anybody has any additional thoughts. As a MP/MBH with CM 4/0/0/0 and FS Enhanced Reflexes 0300 (after having dumped a lot of my FS skills!), I have the following stats, with zero skill points to spare:
105- Total Speed
200- Total Accuracy
250 - Total Melee Defense
250 - Total Ranged Defense
I am trying to decide where the best place to re-grind my 3 FS boxes (or whether to leave them where they are), since they can't be respec'd.
Let's assume for the moment that they fix (or have fixed) FS Ranged Speed and Ranged Accuracy. If I put the FS skill points into Ranged Speed (because speed is apparently my weakest mod, as it probably is for most of us), I get the following (with the changes in red):
117- Total Speed
200- Total Accuracy
235- Total Melee Defense
250 - Total Ranged Defense
I don't know if the logarithmic formula determining the diminishing returns applies to accuracy and defenses like it does with speed, but let's assume that it does. What I've done here is increase my speed mod by 11%--but that only translates to a much smaller actual speed increase due to the logarithmic scale (in fact, an almost negligible increase). I'veconsequently reduced my melee defense by 6%--again almost negligible, when translating that to the actual logarithmic defensive benefit. I don't know the logarithmic formula being used so I don't know what the actual numbers will turn out to be, but looking at the graph that's been circulating, it's pretty small.
So the question is, is there any point in me (or anybody else who is a dual combat master) putting any FS skill points into Ranged Speed, Ranged Accuracy, Melee Defense, or Ranged Defense? Should we instead put them into something unrelated to combat, like Vehicle Control, or Luck? Or should we not even bother to waste them on FS skills at all? Any opinions? I'm going to cross-post this into my existing thread on the FS forum to see if those guys have any input.
