946 DPS? Or 946 Damage? (or god forbid 946 speed?)

If it's 946 DPS, thats astronomical. Highest I've heard of is upper 500's, maybe a handful in the 600-700 range. 400's is more reasonable though.

If it's 946 max damage, thats good too.

Sounds like max damage. The stat you want to look at these days, however, is DPS.

Or might not be. I suggest reading the weaponsmith forums. Some of them are reaching the conclusion that "DPS " doesn't really show the actual potential of a weapon, as it is a reference for normal attack , not special attacks. It is still a debate going on.. so...

As the the question if 946 is good or bad... well.. considering that weapons have a damage cap, from my readings , altough higher damage ones can be made (cap will be , for post cu crafted de-10, of around 960), if that is a converted weapon, youmight notfind a combination of that damage and the 84 action cost that pre-cu converted weapons have.

Yeah I would like to know the new formulas too for weapons. My coverted de10 has a 900'ish max and with a pup hits 1046 max .. but the added speed penalty for adding a pup drops the DPS down?? So which is better to have .. a pup'd weapon with slower speed .. or unpup'd weapon with faster speed. Unpup'd weapons seem to have a greater DPS, so then what's the benifit of using a pup at all?? But then there are a lot of things about cu that still don't make sense.

the bennifit is that nobody uses auto attack (i actually don't think u can... Tried to not click any specials and i just didn't shoot ) so a special that does 1.5x your max damage every 2 seconds is alot better on a gun with 1100 damage and 2 speed, vs a 900dmg gun with 1 speed. DPS = dillusional, prettend, sh!t i say go for dmg. b/c specials are all that matter

kind of agree with that. At least, in a Empirical way, evidences point in that direction. the Modified DPSthat we see doesn't consider the use of specials. Until we get some serious testing done, considering both the effects of max damage and SAC (very important, and many time forgotten when making comparisons) , a definitive position can't be made. Besides, at this moment, the dps is even more dillusional than we might think, since we end up hitting for almost fixed amounts of damage.
