I was messing around with templates, and had a thought....can a MP/M Smug keep a creature perma-rooted? I was a MBH/MComm/nov smug doing the Rryatt trail with a MP buddy, and on the last mission (the Katarn), we were able to keep him permanently rooted by alternating Stopping and Concussion shots, and I wasnt even using the advanced versions. With the root in Pistols and the root and snare in Smuggler, does that make it a 1v1vs melee"i win" button?

yeah i know, we killed him twice, he landed a few hits on me (about 500 through my armor)
but i was wondering if any MP/MSmugs in live had tried this out and if its still possible, i know they've been messing with roots since CU went live

let me tell you .. without root you would have had no chance of killing that nasty mother.
He does like 1100 damage per hit

I am a Master Pistoleer/Master Smuggler and 0040 BH. All pistols template. Its the only thing that pistols can do to survive is the root's.
I went to the Ryatt Trail with a friend, I would run ahead of him, just rooting and snaring all creatures as we had to go the trail guides. It was awesome.
Every so often I would stop and fight (my alt comes out in me sometimes and I have the need to kill) we can kill creatures, but you must root them, get about 20M from them and then lay on your states and alternate between confusing shot, body shot and (can't remember the other shot, I am at work and in work mode).
I enjoy my template tremendously.
I also enjoy my main character. Master Brawler/Master TK/Master Pike. High action costs, but well worth the kockdown, intimidate, armor break and the damage shots.
