Thread: Roots Broken
That is server side lag or a bug that you are seeing there, I get it a lot with stopping shot and I had a lot of trouble with the location of Krayts not being reported correctly.
It looks like this: You stick stopping shot on a mob and you move, say, 20m away from it, but it is still hitting you. After about 10 seconds or so the mobruns towards you.
It can still be rooted at this time and it looks like it just ran 20m while rooted, what happened is that the location of the mob was not updated correctly to your client and it was on your toes all this time.
The way around this is to just keep running until you stop getting hit.
It's a server - client lag issue that results from kiting melee MOBs. Yesterday, I noticed that as soon as the MOB was in melee range and started hitting me, it would stop dead in its tracks. Yet, it was still able to hit me, and I was still able to hit it, regardless of the range that was showing on my client. If I rooted, snared, knocked down, or disarmed the MOB, then the client would sync with the server and the MOB would warp to the correct position. (or if the MOB died, it would warp to the correct position.)
So, in most every case you're seeing, the MOB on the server is right on top of you, even though on your client it might be 20, 30, or even more meters away from you.
I did a /bug report on it yesterday, so hopefully they'll know it's happening.
Again, is was noted on all melee creatures. I'm not sure how it would affect melee humanoids or ranged MOBs.
