Pistoleer Archive
Thread: With the patch comes new templates...
Currently I am a Master Pistoleer/Expert BH. With the 75% change in PvP damage, I honestly believe Medic skills are necessary to be very successful. So with that said, what does everyone thing about this:
1. Drop all 4 BH Pistol skills, and Novice BH. Retain the underskills however just in case Pistoleer Stopping shot/disarm shot 2 get majorly nerfed.
2. With the 33 skill points I now have, I take Novice Medic and all the Pharm skills. This allows me to either use super jacked up Stim C's, or basic Stim D's depending on experimentation.
Pros: I can completely heal myself in between hits. Downtime for regaining BH pistol skills would be minimal. It is very easy to level pistol skills with Master Pistoleer.
Cons: I lose 50 points of pistol speed and accuracy. The accuracy is no big deal, but the speed is. I would need to get an under shirt to put under my marine armor with 4 pistol speed skill tapes.
So the question is, is this viable? Is this a good idea? Why or why not?

Is your concern 1-on-1 or raid type PvP encounters? If they reduce the damage by 75% how is that gonna effect wounds inflicted by fire? If wounding is unaffected the ability to torso shot on groups of enemies (/tab /torso /tab /torso etc) is still gonna take your enemies down alot more effectively than your ability to heal yourself I'd think.
While being a self medic can't be TOO bad I'd say it's better for the 1 on 1 PvP and PvE. In a big battle, you probably want to leave the healing to the Docs & Medics unless you're desparate.
This is a tough call, remember that even though you're doing 75% less damage, so are they- so you're not going to go down as quick either. I guess it comes down to your playstyle and preferences. Do you wanna be a 1 man show, doing the damage and keeping yourself alive(possibly others too)? Or do you wanna be the one dealing the most damage(which can save people also), but having to have a partner?
I'd say- you have the skills already to be a killer, it's not like you're at a crossroad. So unless you absolutely think you won't have a doctor around with you then stay as you are. Though if you are definately solo most of the time, then grab medic.
