Novice Pistoleer | Novice Smuggler
Iwillbe gettingboth eventually, but which one is BEST to head to first?
I ask because I have been told by Smugglers in my guild to head up DF line asap, but they don't even have Pistoleer, so it's kind of difficult to trust their opinions on this one. I read all the time in Pistoller forum that FS is awesome ..... in what way is it so awesome?
After reading both profession FAQs, it would appear that LD is a 6x multiplier, whereas FS is 4x, but then again, many things look better on paper than they really are.
Thanks for reading and which ever way you suggest, please give an explaination as to why.

Oh, please bear in mind I am asking this for PvE not PvP. I want the most xp I can get with the best shot I can do. That is what I am looking for--just to clarify.

I have both of these skills and know that they are both great. The difference between the two is that FS actually will hit all mobs in a certain area for your 4x dmg. So if you are fighting 3 mobs and you use FS you will actually give 12X damage for each shot. The downside is it can make the mob aggro on you.
In the dirty fighting tree you will get Low Blow and Dirty Fighting which are very good when used like this....
Low Blow (Knockdown)
Panic Shot (10 second delay)
Last Ditch (I was able to hit for 2.5k-3.5k dng when they are down)
Honestly the Dirty Fighting tree has better pistol moves but you need the mods from the pistoleer tree to be really good.

Thank you. I have gotten the response I was looking for from Neclonmiteover on the Smuggler board. I am definitely headed to FS first.

with buffs, i took down 7 stormtroopers at the same time on a mission in under 25 seconds(estimation, never really timed but might be lower)while getting the base to about 1/4th hp. yeah, fanshot is great at master and good xp while novice. oh and i was dodging like mad when i was doing that.
