Thread: Weak showing in the IC Board folks... Pistoleers, lets have a little talk shall we?

What is going on here? Have we been nerfed and broken for so long that hardly anyone gives atoot anymore? Are the only "Pistoleers" left (save a few of us determined purists) hologrinders & dabblers who don't waste their time on the issues cause they will be doing something different next week?

Big props to the 69 folks who have taken the time to post their thoughts in the IC-Pistoleer thread even though I know most of you have said this stuff over and over again for months...

Here is why I am so concerned. We are just starting the 4th page on that thread after 6 days of it being on there. Only 4 Pages!!! Why is that a big deal to me? I'll try and explain:

The pistoleer profession's real turning point came in the beginning of September. This was about the time we were loosing our AOE KD and Pistol whip was getting nerfed onto the timer. Holocron stirred up a huge hornet's nest and posted this thread: So, Pistoleers are Skyrocketing in the Pistoleer forum. In6 days, the same time the IC-Pistoleer has gotten 4 pages, that baby was at 26 Pages!!! (9-2-2003 to 9-8-2003) That is how much people got involved and spoke up for profession issues.

Jaegen88, the Pistoleer Correspondent at the time then turned around and launched a campaign to clear the air about our profession in This Thread. From 9-16-2003 to 9-24-2003 this sucker got to 20 pages until Xahn closed it.

Right after that it seemed we dodged a further nerf and had SOE's ear that they actually had tons of work left to do on our Profession to make it viable. Not much has changed since then and we are back to square one it seems. Our current responseseven come across a little less cohesive then we did back then. Though, I think that is cause there has been a big turnover...

Of the people who have posted in the In Concept thread, 40% have been in the game since launch and75% have been in the game since the September turning point. I don't know what the percentages are for people who have actually played Pistoleer since then... The only person I recognize (other than the Correspondent Philosopher1976) as an outspoken pistoleer from the 'early' days until now is Randonb.

Seriously, I feel this has a lot to do with the forum changes and the fact that we've discussed this stuff toomany times to count but we have to remember that there is actually a good bid of 'new' blood on theDev team that were NOT around for those discussions a couple of months ago.

Please, all I ask is that EVERYBODY who uses this Pistoleer Forum, get over there and put your 2 cents in to the In Concept thread....

Kind Regards,

Ovid Delsis

Great post! Bingchudiesummed it up pretty well. What is wrong with you guys? Go to that thread, please. Read it atleast. The things that are being said over there, those are the things that are going to happen. Make sure your voice is heard.

I know we've given our input before and gotten little to no results, but I think the devs really are serious this time. The devs recognize how out of whack some things are, and are reworking a lot of things from the ground up. Radical changescould beon the way, and I cannot stress enough the importance of a strong "true pistoleer" presence in that thread. I look at some of the posters there, and they aren't even pistoleers! I don't know about you, but that makes me uneasy. Actually I prefer quality posts over quantity.

That said, if you can articulately post your support or disfavor for certain items, Thunderheart does keep track of stuff like that.

I think he's really into metrics like "80% of pistoleers that posted agreed that +90 pistol speed total at the Master Pistoleer box is a good idea."

Thanks Randonb, I was beginning to worry when this went relatively unnoticed most of the day...

Now more than ever this is the absolute truth

Makes me uneasy too. That is of course why I posted this.

I want holsters and duel wield too but I saw that overpower a lot of what I read.We did that with the first Correspondent Issues whena lot of us didn't know what they were really asking for and it gave the rest of theCommunity and the Devsthe impression that we weren't broken at all and could be moved to the way back burner of development. I don't what that to happen again...

Why should we bother? Will this be any more effective than the last 5 times they've asked us whats wrong?

I'll believe we're geting luv when SOE asks me to pay for it.

Well BeWary, I'll assume that you're saying that for emphasis and the benefit of others cause you were one of the 69 people who had posted in there...

The reason why I feel this is different is because:

1. They don't have Mounts, Player Cities, or Vehicles taking up development time and it seems apparent that profession changes are the focus

2. They have either givenlove to Chefs, BEs & DEs or are in the process of giving it

3. Holocron is not involved (No offense... )

4. JustG told us in his letter that Professions were a major upcoming development focus

5. The discussion isn't happening in a thread that has the underlying tone of 'Hey, we're thinking we should Nerf you...'

6. They have a new fancy Forum specifically related to Concept discussions for future Development

7. They said in so many words 'Speak now or forever hold your peace' in the aforementioned In Concept thread....

So again, please everyone: Read through the In Concpet thread. Formulate your thoughts based on what you feel and what other posters feel and put you BEST foot forward!
