Thread: DE-10 Barrels: Am I Cursed or Just Flat Out Doing Something Wrong?

Ever since the DWB was released, Ive been trying my hardest to acquire a DE-10 for myself.... Its essentially become a holy grail to me. I've been in the first room of the DWB more times than I like to admit, and have killed countless Assasins, Thugs, and Henchman. I have the schematics...lots of them... and I think I may have looted every different piece there is for the various loot kits, but I still havent seen a single barrel (yellow or white). Several weeks back, I started a thread on my other account here asking how you all were able to acquire your barrels; Im asking again to check my sanity and make sure Im not doing something terribly wrong.
Where did you loot your DE-10 barrels from?
Do you have to be in the DWB to loot one, or can the black sun wandering the planet drop them as well?
Am I just unlucky, or doing something terribly wrong?

Good question, I have a friend that has looted some although I have never had the experience myself. He said it was done at the DWB> I have personally been with a group that looted a barrel, although if memory serves me was about about half way in. My friend however does it before the first SBD, I'll ask for more specifics in game and post an update.
If you are really having trouble getting one though, always keep in mind that it is a matter of time best spent. Sometimes it is better to just grind out the money and buy one.

I am with you on this one. I am trying to get a DE-10 from scratch too and its tough going so far. I asked a friend if she had a schematic, she said yes but she just sold it. Then she said she looted it from a stormtrooper on naboo running missions!! OMG!!
Yeah im questing for the holy grail too, but I really think the hard part is gonna be the three tissues needed, as I want some uber ones!

when the bunker first went live myyself and my friend camped the hell out of the pace for about 10 hours a day for a week. shortly after that we noticed a HUGE decline spike in the general drop rate of de-10 and hack stuff there. schems can get pulled out of the containers (causes an sbd to spawn) but barresl in my experience are only looted on mobs. when the looot kit stuff was put in the loot tables there, it essentially increased the scarcity of the deathwatch-exclusive loot items, which filled up the majority of what those things used to drop. this is possible explanation if you noticed a decline in drop rates yet again more recently as well.

I have spent countless (not really countless..just seems as if)hours toying with black sun spawns on Endor to not get a single barrell or schem...
I am prepairing a trip to the DWB wth a guild mate that has the entire luck branch of the FS Heightened Senses tree.
Hopefully, we will emerge victorious in our quest for the holy grail and not end up like Monty Python and having some BS Assassin (silly little French guy in castle) taunting us over and over again as if to say you are not worthy of such loot you silly little Pistoleer.
Anyways...so goes my luck and hopefully my friend has better than I.

The funny thing about DE10s is that we spend so much time looking for the barrels, schematics, krayt tissues etc then, once we have it all and get it made we (at least me) realize that it really isn't that great of a gun. It becomes a show piece to carry around and to amaze people with the cool blue bolts....ah well. Maybe when the combat revamp comes it will be worthwhile......hahahahaha.

If I'm not mistaken...the DE-10 is already balanced.

If I'm not mistaken...the DE-10 is already balanced.

Just sitting in the first room, or going deep into the bunker? Or were you killing black sun in places other than the DWB?

got a barrel from a black sun assassin close to 0,0 endor, no stats on it tho (dunno if it SHOULD tho)

The barrel still isn't showing stats, no. It probably has invisible stats, with the yellow a little better than the white. Maybe.
As far as getting the barrel/schematic, as far as I know it drops off of everything there (including containers).
