well??? does xxx4x basically make master pistoleer. I've been debating long and hard over whether to sell out and go master rifleman and some defense stacking or do master pistoleer plus xx4x BH for those uber specials (eyeshot and torsoshot)

The best pistol special is last ditch. If you got the speed its not worth it

it makes pistoleer for me. Ive had pistols since beta and I just recentlydid the famed smug0040/MP/BH0040/Novice Comando template and oh boy, let me tell you...THIS is what pistoleer should have been since launch.

balance, speed, trickery...

only thing lacking is real defenses, its almost purely offensive.

Oh, and an ap2 or 3 pistol.

Facts to Know:
1. Superman's only weakness is Kryptonite. Jack Bauer laughs at Superman for having a weakness.
2. When Jack Bauer goes to the airport and the metal detector doesn't go off, security gives him a gun.
3. If Jack Bauer saw a terrorist reaching for a bomb to blow himself up, Jack would shoot the bomb first. Nobody steals a kill from Jack Bauer.

I agree, I also have the Quadruple Threat. Along with my great guns I can kill basically everyone except high level Jedi. The one problem i have is against melee stackers who spam Dizzy/kd...and we do have good defenses. The D line in Pistoleer is most likely the most valuble single tree in the game.

With a good pistol and thakilo, you can do just fine in PvP. Although, i am worried about how fast my good pistols are degrading...always using a PUP is very bad for them...

I am, I just moved from triple threat to BH0040. Last night a doc/rifleman swallowed me up , chewed me a little and then spat me out near Coronet.

My 181-383 geo did 20-30 pts of damage, my eyeshot never stuck a blind the whole time and out of at least 6attempts to KD him he was still standing. Apart from intimidating and bleeding (torso shot didnt seem to bother him too much either) he didnt let me kite him at all. If there were any hills nearby, his doc/MRM template wouldnt have much terrain exploration, allowing me to take the fight/flight uphill but sadly notoutside coronet.

Wish I'd popped some accuracy food before to see if it made a difference but didnt have any on me, plus I'm supposedly capped anyway so i'll have to check this template a little more.He did know how to pvp and had great armour/psg protection but I get the feeling if I still had TKM I could have knocked/dizzylunged him and caused him a few more problems

I'm a Master Pistoleer and 0-0-4-0 BH on one of my toons and in PvE I never usually have any trouble, havent really tried my hand at PvP so I can't really have an opinion about how good it is in that area.

If someone has stun armor and an IMP PSG on I think you are better off using your scatter pistol than a Geo. Stun damage is situational and the PSG does not protect against acid damage.

My suggestion in a situation like this would be to make sure you are protected as well. Have your own stun armor and PSG on, use the 45% sythsteak and dodge foods.

If you can get your mind high enough you may be able to win in a situation like this. Really you'd need to be mind buffed with two shots of brandy and probably a muon. After the second failed KD I would forget about it, chances are that the few seconds it gives you free shots won't make that much of a difference when you have to use it so much to get it to stick and end up wasting the damage on those shots. Concentrate on doing mind damage. Yes there are specials that would be good to use, but against a rifleman you don't have time to mess around, especially when as a doc also he can heal and cure.

Don't try and kite a Rifleman, get in as close to him as possible. Anyway, just my two cents, good luck next time.

I only used the geo for a few shots until I noticed the damage was pathetic, then I tried both my krayt dx2 and scatter pistol, I stayed about 15m away from him whilst moving the whole time till I knew I'd lost, then tried to get away. I had a dancer buff but no music buff, 2 brandys followed by a muon halfway through the fight, synthsteak and....aha no dodge food! or accuracy food come to think of it... though I can't see it doing that much of a difference to the asswhooping I got

Ah, that's too bad it went down like that. Rifleman are just really tough and sometimes the best efforts aren't enough. Rifleman get a stun rifle with AP1 and a powerful mind shot to our AP0 stun pistol and medium power mind shot.

I know it is possible for one of our templates to beat a Master Rifleman, after all my alt is one, but it is an uphill battle and if the rifleman is well prepared and has a lot of experience it is that much more difficult and approaching impossible.

I have easily beaten Master Rifleman in unarmored duels however. The advantage we gain there is that currently AP has no impact against an unarmored person. So his T21 and my scatter both had an effective armor piercing of zero. I was able to spawn lastditch at the speed cap with a damage sliced and powered up scatter while he spammed strafe 2 with his T21. My advantage comes in that a typical master rifleman using a T21 does not speed cap with strafe shot 2. I however did speed cap and last ditch shot has a times 6 damage multiplier where strafe 2 only has a times 5.

Still, had he been speed capped and used Master Head Shot the battle would have gone differently. In the end, no matter how ready you are for the fight it comes down to how prepared and experienced the Rifleman is.

My first toon is a doc/rifleman below the speed cap (No money for tapes-I'm the only poor doctor I know)and the guy last night hit me with alot of headshots and must have been fully prepared because his specials never dropped his mind for one second.

God I hate AP3 unless I'm using it!! (Nerf the "I win" buttons Strafe2/Headshot3.... apart from mine)

I am a master pistoleer + BH xx4x. I just finished a few days ago. Alot of solo group missions on dantooine let me get my exp pretty quick! It's a good profession, though not strong enough for solo pvp, but if you are in a group its great. I also have good med skillz 3/3/4/0, so while I am in a group with pikemen & swordsmen, i can heal them while they fight then drop back and lay down some covering fire.

I havent tried any high end pve yet. Faction missions are a blast. Hunting is good, i can solo rancors four and five at a time.

all in all im enjoying it alot. I would love to go smuggler too but i love my med skills too much to drop them.

I have a Master Pistoleer, BH 0/0/4/0, Smuggler 0/0/4/0 and Novice Commando, and I think it is a great template. Our max dps is a little soft and prevents us from doing much against high level PvE targets. Additionally our PvP pistols are pretty expensive and so like it was said, using power ups on them all the time runs them down fast, which can get expensive. We have an okay mind shot, a great dot and a few other nice specials, as well as decent defenses.

If you want a really good PvP profession, you need to go rifleman, and for a good high end PvE profession, its rifleman and a few others, but the Pistol King template is pretty awesome in my opinion and really gives you a little bit, though not the best, of everything.
