Does Disarming Shot actually damage your oppenent's weapon? Thanks in advance.

no. It never has nor will.both Disarming shot 1 and 2used to have a double damage bonus vs lairs/turrets/vehicles (anything witha single ham bar) but that was nerfed somewhat recently. Currently, disarmingshot 1/2 do essentially nothing. Way back in the day disarming shot 2 was an area knockdown, but that was nerfed away about a year ago, because at the time, it was EXTREMELY overpowered.

disarmingshot2 was actually accidentally copied from a carbineer special that never made it in (to my knowledge, they don't have any master box specials, so that was apparently WAY too powerful lol)


at one point, however, they DID do damage to an opponents weapon but this was changed because: it was useless, and many pistoleers didn't feel like griefing other players

if someone used disarming shot and disabled your DE-10, i'm sure you'd be pissed too

hopefully with the new combat queues to change weapons, the final implimentation of disarmingshot will be realized

im almost positive that it never damaged an opponent'ts weapon ever. I have a distinct memory of spamming disarmingshot 2 in pvp back in the day before the kd timer1 and wasting people by the dozens in theed. carbineer happened to have a similar move, chargeshot2, which was disabled at the same time as disarming shot 2, but recently re-implemented a few months ago. To the best of my understanding this is what happened. disarming shot 1/2 had damage mod bonuses vs lairs,vehicles, and turretsbut not to any weapons as far as i can remember. I cant even remotely imagine how they could program targeted weapon decay under the current system at all- it would be absurdly complicated, and i doubt they ever would have invested development resources into something like that.
