Thread: Stats for pistoleers?

I am crawling up the pistoleer tree right now ..... about half way through, and am still fairly new to the game. I was curious as to what you guys usually set your stats at. I know action is the most important for the pistoleer but i have been trying out countless new numbers on secondary stats .... anyone care to help out a noobish and throw down some helpful hints and tips?

I have all of my secondary bars maxed, mind maxed, and then the rest split between action and health (I think it's 625 or so). I know action is important for specials and such, but when I'm buffed, it's still my mind that is the problem, even with the pumped up stat migration.

Just my 2 cents.

I only play when buffed so I have all my health and action stats on my human toon set to the lowest possible:

400 Health

400 Constitution

400 Strength

400 Action

400 Quickness

400 Stamina

1100 Mind

800 Focus

1100 Willpower

But when I used to play without buffs it was along the lines of:

750Health

400 Constitution

400 Strength

750Action

400 Quickness

400 Stamina

1100 Mind

600Focus

600Willpower

I just used to spam attacks and heal with stims to cover the HAM costs.

suppose it depends on your style of play/species but i would go (as someone has all ready said) with all stats to mind. especialy if you play buffed and have medic skills.

i am planning on putting some stats back to health secondarys as i no longer have any medic skills.

Since you are fairly new to the game, you will prolly be hitting your stride about the time the CURB hits which will totally change the HAM system.

If you play buffed, which most people do anymore your health and action stats can be low and your mind is the key.

If you do not PvP, you mind main pool doesn't have to be that high and with brandy and some other foods you can add 800-900 to it. I would suggest maxxing out the subs though just to cover the HAM costs of specials.

What Percy said pretty much sums up exactly my opinions on stat migrations for pistoleers.

There's really no best answer for how to migrate your stats. It really depends on your template and your playing style. Until a few days ago, I thought the following stats were perfect for my playing style (mostly unbuffed PvE), after much experimentation:

600 Health

400 Strength

400 Consititution

600 Action

790 Quickness

400 Stamina

1100 Mind

491 Focus

619 Willpower

I like to keep Qucikness high to reduce the high cost to Action of using pistol specials. Then I decided the other day, justfor the hell of it, to see what would happen if I shifted a lot more points into my Strength, since with the above scheme (along with the foods I use), Health is now the pool that drops the fastest as I spam my specials (itr would otherwise typically be Action that drops the fastest). Here's what I am experimenting with at the moment:

400 Health

1100 Strength

400 Consititution

400 Action

790 Quickness

400 Stamina

800 Mind

491 Focus

619 Willpower

What an interesting result.... With one hit of Gruuvan Shaal, two hits of Scrimpi, and one or two hits of brandyfor foods, my Strength and Quickness are boosted above the magic number of 1500, such that there is no cost whatsoever to using pistol specials while unbuffed. It does leave my Health and Action a bit low for comfort though--it can be easy to get killed in one shot if you don't have medic skills (and even with them sometimes)--but at least I now don't have to pay attention to my pools if I am spamming from a safe ranged distance.

Buffed play is an entirely different story--you don't have to worry about specials costs there, so you'd instead want to put as much as you can into Mind and Willpower.
