This is just a thread i wanna start about favorite moments and memorable thing worth noting in SWG about being a pistoleer or even favorite movies, scenes from real life that made you want to be a pistoleer in the game. In other words lets talk about our passion for our proffession.

My passion involved mainly flashy movies involving pistols such as Equalibriam, Matrix trilogy, Face Off, and seeing Pulp Fiction when one bad Mother pulled out his bestfreind (in otherwords a pistol/or heavy handgun if you will.)

My favorite book that really got me interested in pistols was "The Dark Tower" series by Steven King.

And my sister was the first person to introduce me to pistoles when i was only 8

Good idea...

I came to SWG from three years of UO where I had an Archer/Mage.

I'd had enough of firing slowly so figured I'd go for a fast ranged profession when I started SWG.

After trying Pistols, Carbines and Rifles as a Novice MarksmanI figured Pistols was fastest so went down that route.

As for defining moments... I'd say being the only one left alive as all the melee tanks and riflemen started dying in the DWB or Corvette on many occasion thanks to Dodge and RDM3.

It certainly is a challenge to take down anything with Heavy armour solo, even with poison stacking to help... and it can take anything upwards of half hour to kill a Tusken Observer/Krayt/Gorax... and most of that time is spent out of range of the mob waiting for poison to tick.

When I first started playing this game, all I knew was that I wanted to be a ranged fighter. Melee just didn't seem Star Warsy to me. I couldn't decide between Rifleman and Pistoleer, so I chose Carbineer thinking that it would be a mix of the two. Then a more experienced player told me that for my playing style, I'd be better off choosing Rifleman or Pistoleer. I reevaluated the specs and decided that Pistoleer would (theoretically) be better able to handle melee-distance attacks, while still being halfway decent at ranged. That's how I decided to become a pistoleer. Had I known at the time that Riflemen were so powerful, I might have made a different decision, hehe. But in spite of all our broken specials and disadvantages in combat, I have never looked back and will always be a pistoleer.

As for defining moments, my favorite was when I was grouped with two TKA's, and I had been marvelling at how quickly they could run up to seeminglyany mob and dispatch it in moments. Then we ran a mission to fight a dark jedi NPC, and I watched both of the buffed TK's take turns fighting the jedi (one at a time) and getting almost instantly killed (one TKM got killed twice--and he was also a Master doc). Then it came my turn to try, and I just assumed I would get killed even more quickly. I whipped out my trusty DE-10, started kiting the jedi, and quickly killed him before he did a single point of damage to me. Then I repeated the mission, and did the same thing again. Man, did I feel powerful that day.
