Thread: Novice Pistoler needs a guild!!!!!

Anyone on the eclipse server that reads this and need people for there guild i really need one badly... who besides me wants this war to be over i am doing what i can to make the right people win but since the war started i can not do the stuff i wanted to do with out being attacked and jumped my (IMPS,IMPS,IMPS and more IMPS) i am not a rebal but i enjoy fighting for them.... When this war is over i am going to take the biggest dump and fall asleep and think what just happened was a really long dream.... Which this brings me to my first question how come i can kill IMPS that con red to me and not be able to kill other things that con red to me with out a buff?What is up with all of NPC BOUNTY HUNTERS following me all of the time? They know that they can not kill me so why even try!!!!! I have added some new skills and took some skills away form the last time i made a post.. well here they are>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

got really bord so i wanted to do something while i waited for my pizza to get to my house..

sorry for that big writing did not know that it was that big...

there is a point... the point is that you can kill a human Npc easyer than trying to kill an animal that cons red to you.

i really have noticed this when i turned Master Fencer.

It seems the levels of Con were changed recently and now things that were yellow to me are now red, make it more difficult to differentiate between things that are worth killing and things that aren't when they pop up on your radar as you are swooping about.


Thankfully we now have tooltips when you hover your mouse over the radar though, which is to be improved in the next patch.


Some things that Con red really shouldnt, like the sand troopers in Bestine... why something a pistoleer can kill in four or five shots cons red I dont know...


I think what you are talking about is the differing scale of things that con red... its too wide a range at the moment, I feel. But perhaps this is a sign of things to come, when con red mobs really will be instant death after the CU.

I completely agree with you BadgerSmaker! This is something I have been thinking about a lot lately. It seems that most things that con red to me now that I encounter in my everyday activities (as opposed to high-end mobs that I seek out because I know they are tough) are incredibly easy to kill. I just assumed that it's because I have become harder to kill myself lately (better armor and weapons, FS defensive mods, etc), but in my opinion as my character becomes more powerful, the con level should change for any given mob. Things shouldn't con red unless chances areexcellent that it is going to kill you in whatever your current state is (including buffs). If I take off my armor, a yellow-conning mob should change to red, for example, to reflect my actual chances of surviving a fight with that mob. So I don't really pay attention to cons anymore, except to occasionally think "hmmm..red dot... maybe it will give me more XP for FS."). A red dot should really make a player stop and think about attacking a mob solo. It doesn't do that for me anymore.

There should be some slider in options to set your con, when flying across Dathomir, I only want the Nightsisters/SMC showing as Con red so I can stop to kill em, I get giant baz nitch's and all sorts of rubbish conning red, thankfully though we have the mouse over tooltips on radar to help spot something worth killing.


For instance, hunting Krayts and a Tusken Chief pops up con red next to an Ancient Krayt Dragon...


Sorry, Mr. Tusken Chief, but you're not even in the same league.

Well said, BadgerSmaker. Some of the stuff that cons red to me now is just utterly ridiculous. All it takes is a PMD1 and a few Torso or Stopping Shots, and they are dead before they've even fired a single shot at me. I just read the following description of a red-conning target in the official SWG game manual that made me chuckle:


"Well above your skill level. Red targets are incredibly dangerous and will almost always defeat (and most likely kill) you, unless you're part of a much larger and more powerful group."


Well, it's actually been some time now since a red-conning mob defeated me, and I attack them all the time solo(though usually nothing that I don't feel I can reasonably handle in my current state, based on previous experience), so something gotta be seriously wrong with this display system. Granted, I am using a pretty powerful weapon (DE-10) on many of them, but the weapon I have equipped should be figured into the con, in my opinion.


There is one thing the red-conningtargets make me do though--they sometimes make me more inclined to stop and view the target's stats to see if it would help to pick a more appropriate pistol for its defenses. If it's yellow or lower though, I usually don't even bother looking at the stats before I start blasting. They're always dead in a few shots from my DE-10.


We need a new con symbol--skull and crossbones or something.


I like your slider option idea.
