Thread: What happens to the speed cap after the CURB?
Hopefully it will be something like (weaponspeed * special mod) + (speed mod/100)
With some adjustment of the special mods it could be made that the powerful specials are allways slow and that weapon speed counts for something even at master.
Obviously resource stat caps and slicing and pups need to be taken into consideration but the devs can easily simulate these to get the special mods right.
One thing is for sure Im trying to make it so we dont need speed mods from other professions.
1) Speed cap is easy
2) DE-10
3) BH specials
My question is this: are they going to take away our easy BH speed cap with the Combat Upgrade? And if they do, what will also change to make sure pistoleer is even removely useful...
Using a scatter you get BH speed then every other pistol other then LP you get pistoller speed?
What about the LP... Does it get BH or regular pistoller speed?
If it goes by specials... What about smuggler specials? What speed do they get?
I don't see how they can at all remove the speed stacking from BH and pistoller. It doesn't seem logical. And I hope they don't.
Without the BH specials pistoller sucks anyway. And even if they make it better where it can stand on its own two feet, who wants that? As a pistoller I want ALL things pistoller. MP, BH pistol, novice commando and DK4... I want the whole pistol package.
It would be an injustise for them to mess with that. Remove cross defense stacking, fine. But not the one thing that makes pistoller, and even carbineer, special.. Being able to cross professians to get the most out of them.
But get rid of CA and AAs... Those are freaking annoying.

Where did anybody say THAT?
BH mods with work with Pistoleer and vice versa....that I can assure you is in the CU.
As far as the Speed Cap goes, think a bell curve with diminishing returns instead of a hard cap at 1.0 It may end upa Master Pistoleerfires around 0.5 or 4.0 but it will be all relative to all other profs so don't get concerned at this point on raw numbers. The new combat system works so much differently that trying to use numbers from the old system just doesn't make sense. There is so much to say but you all must wait for official announcements or your invitation to the Closed Beta.

I have an idea... can people stop saying "Pistoleer is easy to speedcap"... it is if you want to waste skillpoints... but one of the hardest and most expensive to do otherwise.
It just gets to me when everyone assumes that PIstoleers need BH pistols to be any good, taking that line isakin to admitting you dont have the skill to play Pistoleer as it is.

As LordMaxx says, we dont want to be forced to take up lines from other professions... we will if we want to, but we want the choice.
