Hi, Durdon here playing on the Bria server.

My first post as im fairly new to the game but have spent a fair few nights reading on some older posts. I found the help there brillant and it helps me get better each day.

I have been playing now for just under 2 months and have come to really like the pistol. My first thoughts on what to do with this guy was to be a bounty hunter, this has now changed. I have a lot of free time on my hands (currently waiting for an op) and because im enjoying the game so much, im going to do a little loot hunting while getting xp then start the long Jedi grind.

My first question is regarding my template. I am currently-

Pistoleer 1343

BH 0040

Medic 2440

(Scout 4000 + Master Marks)

Once i have master pistoleer i will be left with 13 skill points. Where would be the best place to put these spare points?

My thoughts i had after reading some previous posts was the following template, it would use all skill points available-

Master Pistoleer

BH 0040

Medic 0130 (C stims little quicker)

Novice Commando

(Scout 4000 + Master Marks + Brawler 4000)

This template gives me good acuracy and speed with the launcher pistol, but still allows for decent heals with C stims.

What would be your comments on that plan and is there a better way to go?

Once hes finished i will go play with him for a while seeing what he can do. Ultimatly though i will be taking him Jedi (i want my second character so i can craft) do you know if the templates stated will help and aid the long hard (worthwhile i hope) Jedi path?

If i could bore you just a little longer however, i wonder also if you could help. Ive been recently looting different crystals and rifle projectile barrels. A few other bits like datapad batterys also. I hear people say i need a Jedi to tell how much a crystal is worth but im a little confused. Any advice and how much and where to sell these would be great. My highest bank account balance to date has been 120k, so if i can start earningfrom this loot i will be very happy

Welcome to the boards, Durdon!

Your proposed template sounds like a perfectly good one, if you are intent on being able to use a Launcher pistol (nothing wrong with that). The only change I would recommend is doing Medic 0040 instead of 0130. You'll greatly appreciate being able to use stimpacks D.

If you want an alternate source of income than loot, you could give up on the Commando idea and get (Scout) Hunting IV and sell hides and meats. It really just comes down to how you want to play.

As for crystals, yeah, only a Jedi can view the quality of one of those, so you would just have to sell them blindly (and for a lot less money)if you don't have them checked. I've got tons of crystals that I've never bothered having checked--I just use them for decoration.

There isnt enough skill points with that template for medic 0040, only reason i stuck the 0130 is because it leaves 2 spare points (x1xx that one) unfortunatly.

Im not to bothered about the launcher pistol (i just hear its good). I wont keep the template for long as i start down Jedi path anyway.

Any suggestions for a pistoleer template to help through Jedi process

Ah yes, you're right about the skill points. In that case, your Medic template is fine. You'll eventually probably want to change it to 0030 to make room for FS skills.

As for Pistoleer template to help with the Jedi grind, there are two that are really good (in my opinion): (1) Master Pistoleer/Desperado, and (2) Master Pistoleer/Rogue. Which one you choose is a matter of personal preference, though #1 seems to be a lot more popular, undoubtedly because of the speed mods (and secondarily because of some nice specials like Eye Shot and Torso Shot). You could get both lines though--that's a really nice template. Personally I don't think either has more merit than the other--it's just a matter of which specials you like to use and how much you are willing to pay for speed tapes if you don't go the Desperado route.

I supported the old system, but it didn't help. I now support working with the devs to try and make the new game something we'll enjoy.

I think im just going to work towards the badges i need for Jedi and see how i go from there, i seem to hold my own at the minute so im all good
