This is not a pointless rant btw 
Firstly pistoleers are the ranged fencers.... we should get the same defenses imo (melee and ranged)..... the melee guys get intimidate anyways and warcry.
Specials:
Body Shot 3 = multiplier lifted.
Disarming shot = clears oponents combat que
Disarming shot 2 = clears openents combat que and disarms them so they have to get their weapon out again.
Fan Shot = should be comparable to a scatter hit or scatter shot, hitting all pools. single targeting
Stopping shot = should be a ranged posture change and hit a random pool for a fair amount of damage
Double tap = places a stun effect of on the target
PMD1 = KD as it is working currently
PMD2 = a dizzy KD
Multi Target = AOE attack with a slightly higher multiplier than the current fan shot.
Point blank attacks should be devastating we are pistoleers
Same with area point blank.
Speed modifiers should be the same as rifleman imo, so there is no mistake that we can shoot at 1 per second for ALL specials.
This would fix our broken proffession and then the stacking, rifle speed, CMs and DPS, ARMOUR RATINGS, and Dual Weild could be sorted in the combat revamp.
These changes wouldnt make us uber or imbalanced imo, it would merely mean would could do more damage then 10 points in PVP and to things in the corvette.
In essence the star wars movies depicted even jedis using pistols, they must then reflect some worth in the game too.

I agree that based on the names of the specials, and the specials given to the few professions that actually work, what you say above should be put in place.
However, the rest of the professions would be outraged if we got all that, especially all at once. Hopefully the speed won't be an issue after the combat rebalance, as they've said they are putting in an entirely new equation for it.
I would love to have all that, but seriously, to all of a sudden make pistoleers capable fighters is just something that isn't going to happen, and even if they tried, it would be buggy to the degree of broken anyway.

i dont think people would whinge imo, most ppl realise we are broken, and we are the only ranged proff that need to spend more skill points in pistols xp to get to a descent level in pistols

yeah, they'd only whine if this happened without their professions getting fixes. Smugglers, BHs, CHs, Rangers, Squad Leaders, Carbineers ... they all have the same sort of sentiments as we do about their professions. Of course, I think we have more broken specials and inadequacies than them, but I'm biased.
Overall however, the suggestions you put forward do seem very beneficial to our profession. I believe somewhere up in the stickies Randon has a list of what the specials currently do and what he and the majority of our community wish they could be. You make some interesting suggestions, hopefully this thread gets some attention.
