Well im currently a master ch and been trying out different combat skills to use along side of ch . I have heared from many other ch's to use like ,tkm , rifleman , and some pistoleer . I know most times many combat's are not long distance alot are near you and pet . Is pistols better to use then those cause of the speeds for most pistols ? I know speeds get better at master but some pistols are fast still at low level still . So would pistoler and ch be all that bad of a mix ? pro's & cons .

Well thanks for any helpful info interested to hear from many as well any creature handlers using pistols

I would say its "ok". There are a lot of professions which dish out a lot more damage than the Pistoleer. One advantage over Rifleman or Carbineer is that your pets mostly hit your target's health pool, which you can attack directly with your Pistoleer specials (two bleeds, BodyShot2). And unlike a melee class like TKM or Swordsman, you can stay far enough away from your target so that they will keep its attention. And last but not least the high dodge modfiier of the Pistoleer is a nice extra, which works well when fighting PvE.

Just don't try to enter PvP as a CH/Pistoleer

I likeCH pistoleer, throw your pets into the middle of a mob and fanshot them all to death. I'm alsoquite fond of my pets and wouldbevery reluctant to drop CH.

Even though both profs are considered not too good I have a lot of fun playing them both.

I am a pistoller with a enough CH to have a pet that can take a beating, whilst I stand back and use body shot or fanshot. I seem to do alright.

it used to be king of pvp, but now it's been toned down a bit
when the combat balance changes finally go into effect, it will be very useful again i think

it's still does VERY good in pve though

heh im a master CH with pistoleer 4/4/4/3 (blasted combat xp). and considering how sad ch and pistoleer are standing alone they do somehow add up nicely i find. oh and i did pvp with it once! lets just say i was glad we had a doc . but really, with CH, you have the ability to really stack up a ton ofstatus thingson ur enemy with the right type of pets, like get some that do stun attack or dizzy. i find i can often get lots of things like stun or blind on my enemies and if i have a dizzying pet i can use pistoleer meele 1 to knock em odwn and keep them knocked down......30 percent of the time. i think its fun, but it doesnt deal damage very fast, so battles will be long since you have 2 proffesions that dont deal too much damage.

I am master pistoleer and master CH. Isn't uber combo but has a lot of advantages.

For example, today from a distance I sent my pet into the middle of one of those stormtrooper squads you find in the middle of nowhere (was about 10 of them.) All the stormies start attacking my pet. I move in with my enhanced DX-2 and use fan shot, which hits them all at once since they are so close together. Downed the whole group in about 15 seconds tops. Took a screenie with them all lying on their backs in a perfect little circle!

As another poster said, if you are a wise creature handler, you know what specials your pets have and can stack those on your enemies too (I'm sorry mister rancor, you say you are intimidated/dizzy/blind/bleeding, awww)

I wouldn't give up the professions because I like them too much. Is silly to do something you don't enjoy just to be the most powerful.

I am both MCH and Master Pistoleer with a lil bit O' medic.....

I Love them both...

I can solo (with my trusty lvl 69 razor cat)anything in the game from enraged mutant rancors on down with no problem. So far anything higher then that gets tricky to impossible but I havent tried to solo everything.

The two compliment each other well in most PvE situations. Useless for PvP though.

Seperately they are weak combat professions, probably the wekest in comparison to others like TKM and Rifle....but together they make a pretty badass combo IMO.
