Thread: Picked up a Geo
On Ahazi, alot of people slice their PSGs, and if it hits the effectiveness, the stun resist is usually around 60%. And that's on top of the usual 30-45% stun layered comp armor, effect sliced for 80-90% against everything else except lightsaber.
With Geo's and Stun Batons having AP0, that means that even our PvP gun isn't doing much damage, while the riflemen with their AP1 Jawas are able to eat right through the PSGs and comp armor.
Unfortunately for me, Pistols have become a support class for my TK skills. I'll lowblow, panic shot, and lastditch for the stun (btw these are smuggler skills, not pistoleer), stick my mind poison DoT geo on them, stick a modified rep blaster bleed on them, and that's basically all I can do with my pistols. I'll usually try to lowblow them from a range in which I can easily move in and switch to unarmed, stick a dizzy on them, and hopefully keep them down. If they managed to stand before my dizzy, then i'll just lunge and go to town on them.
But anyway, yeah ... although the Geo's are our only viable weapon in PvP, they still don't do much against knowledgeable and well-equipped PvPers. Plus, there are rumours of a stun dmg nerf going around ... dunno what's up with that though.
The other option is to get the stun special protection, in which you have anywhere from 25-45% against stun, unsliceable, and the same sort of base as above. This is the best armor for PvP because you're protected against stun for up to 45%, everything else except for lightsaber for up to 90%.
And, of course, you get the good Imperial Prototype Personal Shield Generators, which give 45% to stun and a few others, and given a good slice these are usually sliced for up to 60% protection.
That's the situation of armour on ahazi.

I agree with this sentiment. When you fight against a well-equipped PvPer, with:
Ranged mitigation 3
44% resist synthsteak
58% stun resist PSG (sliced)
40% stun resist composite
You won't be able to break double digit damage with a 434 max damage (sliced, powered up) geo pistol using last ditch. I don't thinkeven anuber krayt geo pistol would be able to cut through all those defenses. ![]()
About the stun damage nerf, I heard that during the combat rebalance, that stun damage will no longer be as "emphasized" (read: overpowered) as it is now. Then again, I don't think AP 0 stun damage is overpowered at all. It might have been overpowered with fencers using acklay 400+ damage stun batons with scatter hit to bypass defense (now fixed). But considering the price of a krayt geo pistol (1.8 million on Intrepid, for one made with +50 damage tissues), you would think they would be more effective than a vanilla jawa ion rifle that costs 15k.
