This whole BH mess has got me pretty riled. So what good are we now? Do we cheese out and take other classes? Why do we get to be the universal class? Why arent rifleman, stackable with other classes in the same manner. Carbineers have the same problem with BH's. Smugglers, BH's and Commandoes all get to benefit from taking a bit of us. Now more than ever. If they make all the BH weapons their own category that will help, but then that still leaves smugglers and commandoes. Why don't they eliminate the class all together? It has no real purpose in high end combat. As it is I have stayed pistoleer out of determination. But in reality it has made me useless in high end combat. They throw us these guns but it still doesnt do us any good when they make them worthless unless you are a dabbler. The whole problem stems from the fact that they just wouldnt do a skill based system which would have been more "realistic". Just too stuck on classes from EQ to do someting more balanced.
I know this rant is nothing new, just feel pressure building as we get close to the almighty CB, and just counting on the DEVs to drop the ball. I know the smugglers are in a bad pinch, but at least what they do have works, even if it is not the greatest in the world.

I've decided I just don't care any more. I've got my defense template done (TKM, Master Pistoleer, 0140 Smuggler, Novice Medic and 2000 scout) and I'm not gonna re-grind for something else, especially not when I'd lose a ton of defense. So I'm going to keep my dx2 equipped (until I get a de10) and I'm not gonna wear armor, just my bright orange jacket over a yellow shirt with bright green pants, all nicely set off by my giant blue 'hawk. So I accidently shoot first and 5 rancors come towards me? Big deal, with the right foods and what not, they can't even hit me and if it gets ugly, whoopsie feign death.
No longer fighting the system, just having a good time in the flow of things.

I gave up pretty much. Being a pistol and ch, why risk the tumor.
I just bounced around 1 month out of 3 until something interests me.

Well, the only glimmer of hope that I can offer is in the direction of Smuggler. While their revamp is (supposedly) coming after JTL, the Dev GreenMarine has been posting tons of ideas and information for Smugglers to talk about. One thing he mentioned is that he doesn't want Smuggler to be a "Pistols only" profession any more. Somehow he wants it set up so that you can use any weapon with equal efficiency as a Smuggler. That will, in theory, produce some Riflemen-Smuggler, Carbineer-Smugglers, etc.
Again, that's a long ways off, but hopefully something a bit similar can to done for Commando and Bounty Hunter.
Personally, Commondo's don't bother me. BH's don't bother me in SOME cases (for example I'm doing MBH, Master Pistoleer, and whatever Carbineer I can afford), but the new super template just makes me shudder. Then again, all the cookie-cutter templates make me shudder
Ah well, we can't win.

But then where is the problem if you like to use pistols, if you take master pistoleer and all the other pistol specials you can handle? It's like MBH who are now afraid of other professions taking invest 3. Wow they don't take all the skills, that is hurting our fun with the game a lot (how actually?)
This game gives you some ways to customize your skills (which I like a lot and is one of my favourite aspects), although there are still too few ways to combine professions, also I think some masters are way over the top (like rifleman or all the crafting elites.)
It doesn't have to do with being uber at all, not for everyone at least. If I would only like to do melee combat, where is the big deal if I only take melee skills, just because the combat is unbalanced and I will have insane defense AND damage does that make me a worse player at the same time? I think the swordsman correspondent uses a 1hand 2hand template, giving insane combat skills, does that make him one of those leet guys? (I talked to him once or twice ingame, he is anything but that.)
One reason I like pistoleer a lot is BECAUSE I can combine it with 3 other professions and get advantages by using those profession with pistoleer. Pistol skills as a commando without pistoleer? Smuggler pistol skills without pistoleer? I can see why BH NEED to have some pistol skills though.
Bottom line, the only thing that bothers me is that there should be more ways to combine different professions, for example some more defense for dancer of stuff like that.
