Thread: BH question for Pistoleers

Hey all,

Having just aquired new skill points, and being a MBH, I am curious about some aspects of the Pistoleer tree.

Let me preface by saying that I'm keeping MBH (roleplaying aspects, and stubborness), and will NEVER take a melee profession for the same reasons. Will hope combat balance takes care of ranged profession issues and, if not, I will adapt with my own playing style.

I plan on dabbling in both Pistols and Carbines. In the Pistol tree, are the Pistol Techniques worth investing in for the added Combat State defenses. Meaning: do high level players cut right through these defenses? For KD, I have food and Carbine KD defense (Jedis can still still KD me ) Or, is it better to dabble in Speed and Accuracy skills boxes? I realize I can dabble in all of them, but I want to prioritize.

Any information and insight is appreciated.

Thanks

over and out

I would definately get Pistols 0040 and Carbines 0030 AT LEAST. That will boost your Ranged Mitigation to 7.

Get pistoleer 0-0-0-3 to cap your pistol speed, this will alow you to fire any special with any pistol each second, the state defences are nice but not crucialthe best for you would be to get at some melee def and melee mitigation to

I don't think ranged mitigation works like you think. Ranged mitigation is a skill with 3 levels. You either have ranged mitigation 1, ranged mitigation 2, or ranged mitigation 3, with each one replacing the previous skill. Once you have ranged mitigation 3, you can't get any better.

Yah you cant stack Range Mitigation.. lol
If you get 3 from one set of skills and 3 from another its just 3.

Yeh, that's right. They don't stack at all, so even if you had twoboutsof ranged mitigation 1, you won't have ranged mitigation 2, just mitigation 1.

And as for what to get in Pistoleer, given we're so borked, I'd advise going master carbineer and not get pistoleer at all

You'll cap all known pistols with a just one speed box from pistoleer, speed will be +91 which caps all moves on all pistols up to 2.7 speed, so unless you use looted pistols you're good. And those state defences don't mean anything because they can just spam the move again immediately after, law of averages states you have to get Kd'd eventually. I recommend fanshot and stoppingshot to increase your arsenal for PvE though as well as picking up a geonosian tangle blaster.

Also if you decide to master pistoleer, you'll get the DE-10, our most powerful PvE weapon. As a byproduct of mastering pistoleer, you'll cap all moves with all pistols regardless of their speed.

After that, dabble in what you want, you could also master rifleman and become the ultimate marksman.

I've been looking at a return to BH myself, but I haven't decided on a final template yet, I've got about ten I'd like to try though. lol
