Thread: Noobish Question about Dodge

I have a noobish questions from a friend of mine. I don't want flaming or answers from people who aren't sure, I would like a definitive answer on this if possible.
My friend is aMaster Pistoleer. Master Pistoleer gives him +105 Dodge skill or something like that. The question is whether this applies to unarmed or using other weapons, or is it exclusively while he uses a pistol?
We'reunder the impression that it doesn't, but we've seen where people mention that they willlearn one line of a certain profession for its defenses and one line of another profession for its defenses and so on. Just wondering who's crazy, us or them.

Dodge from pistoleer will only work if you have a pistol equipped. I will not work if you have another type of weapon equipped.

It does only work with a one handed weapon but that can be a pistol or a 1 handed blade. Pistoleer and Fencer dodge will stack and apply with either weapon.
However, he is quite correct that it cannot be used unarmed or with any weapon other than 1 handedor pistol.
EDIT: But on a side note, if you have a pistol or 1 handed weapon equipped, you will dodge in all postures, while on a bike, and while KD'd.

1neanderthal isn't entirely correct. It also applies if you are holding a fencing weapon, like a one handed curved sword. The dodge hits a barrier at 125 or 120 i think however so even if you get master fencer and master pistoleer you can't get any more dodge than that. Any other weapon besides those two types gets no dodge bonus whatsoever, so don't expect to be dodging like crazy when holding a rifle.
