"Why are you not fixing my broken profession now?

We ARE going to do a round of bug fixes for all combat professions, and try to fix the major broken things with each. Keldarin (Live Senior Systems Designer) has a thread in the correspondent’s forum right now asking what they want fixed. Talk to your correspondents."

What, if anything, have you told them we want fixed?

The thread he's talking about is more for preliminary stuff. Bugs that we want fixed, but aren't necessarily a "final draft" on what we are shooting for. Specifically in that thread, I cover the outright bugs with our specials. These aren't just "this special is worthless," these are "this special doesn't even work." Later the thread shifts from just bugs to high priorites.

For bugs, I covered all of the bugs with our specials. I didn't include things like "this special doesn't do enough damage," because that technically isn't a bug. There are other threads for those purposes. I did include the Dodge animation, as that is now officially a bug (fixed in Publish 8). I also covered a little known bug with Health Shot 2.

For high priorities that would be "easy" to implement, I go over a few band-aids to apply before the Combat Balance really hits full swing. I covered a flat +10 to speed, a damage increase, and a defenses increase. No guarantees, of course. There are other threads where I suggest more finalized options. Some people seem tofalsely believewe have great defenses (or at least exaggerate them), so I'll quote that portion of the post here:

Defenses: Our defenses are in the same boat as Carbineers (Novamarine had made an excellent case on why their defenses need help). We have identicalCounterattack/Dodge (105/105). Our Ranged Defense is the least in the game, dwarfed even by Brawlers (7). Our Melee Defense is for all intents and purposes identical with Riflemen, who were intended to be long range fighters(45/40). Our state defenses don't help much unless stacked, because all our enemies have to do is spam the special once or twice more.

Solution: Increase both Ranged & Melee defense as a stopgap measure. The stats don't appear to help unless stacked, so I am hoping for a revamp of the defense system (or just the To Hit formula) in the future.

I'm hoping for State Defenses to be looked at in the future as well, perhaps providing a 5-10 second immunity upon a successful save.

Now these aren't the only posts I've made about our issues, not by a long shot. As I said before, this thread is mainly intended for easy to implement stuff in the meantime before the bulk of the Combat Balance. I'm pushing a lot of things on a lot of fronts, but nothing I haven't already spoken about here. Rest assured I am representing our interests to the best of my capacity.

Are they going to fix anything in Publish 8 or not? I mean besides the animation they promised and failed to fix before.

I wish I could tell you, but I don't know. None of the other professions are getting a forecast, either.
