Thread: If I were to dabble in pistoleer...what should I get the most?

I am currently a TKM and I am planning on going for master smuggler. I want to either dabble in pistoleer, or go for the triple master....Only thing i do not like about triple master is that you cannot heal... If I dabble in pistol, I know I should get the speed and accuracy, but should I climb thegrips tree for the specials because the smuggler specials are not enough? or are they good enough on their own? Should I climb tactics to get dodge and potentially body shot 3? Should I just say screw it and go for the triple master? lol i am having a hard time deciding what would be best. I like hunting and I do a bit of pvp, but I do not consider myself a serious pvp machine. If I dabble I was thinking of 3242 pistoleer, or 0444.

On a side note, what would you guys say is the best grinding pistol? I will probably buy a few types, figure the DX2 is the best though. Thanks!

Head straight for the pistol techniques branch of the pistoleer tree. Once you get stopping shot and fanshot pistol xp and combat points are easy to come by!

if you have the smuggler specials up to last ditch and you just want to dabble in pistol, i'd go for the marksmsanship and/or speed lines 1st. Stopping shot and fan shot are pretty good, but last ditch pwns. And Im not sure if tk's have any dodge, but if they do the pistoleer dodge wont stack with it, i dont think.
body shot 3is crap anyways, you do more damage with body shot 2.

Yeah I was going to bypass dodge because i was going to use pistols to compliment me being a tka. im still not sure though.... I have also read that body shot 3 is really good? thanks for the tips.

Yeah, I've heard rumours that Body Shot3 has been fixed to some extent, I'll let you know when I get it! Incidently, I've found that a lot of the time when using my republic blaster health shot2 does more health damage than body2! I've been spamming health shot for the last couple of days and it's working a treat.

Well, Last Ditch will never fire fast. You will do huge frontload damage, but over time, Fanshot is king in this case. Your best bet is the Tech. Line, allows you to use a geo stun, and thats always good.

As for triple master, if you don't care about spiced and slices, you can go Pistoleer/Rogue/TKM and have the same fighting abilities as a Triple Master.

If you're going to use pistols, get Grips, Marksmanship and Stances.

If you're not going to use pistols at all, get Techniques and maybe Stances for the added melee defense.

There are lots of interesting things to do from your position. Not being PvP focus allows you to not worry too much about pistol accuracy or speed. Here's an interesting template for a defensive Smuggler.

http://swgcb.yogn.net/report.php?PHPSESSID=6d437760b2f1042e58d1944639e9510a

Smuggler 4444
Fencer 4440
Pistoleer 0140
Tera Kesi 2304

v Blind 90
v Dizzy 85
v Knockdown 120
v Posture Change 100
Dodge 100 (though its in fencer not pistols)
Melee D 131 (Mitigation 2)
Ranged D 116 (Mitigation 2)

It's a nice transition template for you I think.

It's a bit spicer than the regular triple master and you still get the all-cool Master Smuggler title, and by cool I mean totally sweet.

120 defense vs. knockdown isn't as much of a help as one may think.

KD always has a minimum 10% chance of sticking, no matter how high your defenses.
