It seems that most of us that remain pistoleers do it because of our love for pistols and also that it goes well with the character we have created. I know personally this is how I feel. If we wanted power we would change but we don't. Despite people saying "dude, you need to get rid of pistols" we say no. We work with what we have and hold a hope in the back of our minds that someday we will back with a vengeance. We all cheer for our fellow pistoleers when we hear of stories that they defeated another higher combat profession. In the game the Master Pistoleers seem to have a close bond. I always get a return nod or wave from a Master Pistoleer whether Imp or Rebel. Our community on the forums for the most part seems close and helpful. We all understand our weaknesses and help our fellow pistoleers to overcome them. I just wanted to post this as an encouragement to my fellow pistoleers. We should be proud that we stick with pistols through the good and bad. Hey it can only get better from here. Or at least we hope.
Ok so to actually get to a point on this thread, I was just curious at how long you have been a pistoleer?
-pistoleer since since day 2 of release and still kicking.-

I was a master pistoleer back in october then dropped it for the holo grind so I could keep master smuggler now I'm back. The fact that most people dont keep pistoleer kinda says something about it failings. I keep it just because I'm a smuggler and pistols just fit in star wars for me.

I'm finally returning after my hologrind and what not. ATM I would say that carbineer is almost in the same boat as we are and at least we look cooler
I have hope with the new patches coming out to show us some love.

I think I started playing on day 2 (few people could log in on day 1, registration servers were jam packed). I found some Artisan handing out free CDEF Pistols with powerups. Back then people tried to get usage experience.
Ran out and started killing Gubburs and Corellian Butterflies.. good times. Watch out for the Swooper thugs! I actually didn't advance very quickly, because I was trying to be a Musician as well. To make matters worse, I refused perform in Coronet because it was too crowded. I got about halfway through that tree before dropping it and focusing on Pistols.
I eventually picked up Master ID and Master Entertainer as well, for the complete "No way I'm not going to dabble, I shouldn't have to so go to hell" experience. The remaining 4 skill points were spent on Carbines & Rifles 1 from Marksman (and theRanged Support line.. that might turn into Medic, but I'm stubborn).

I like pistols, and in pvp I can hold my own (except for the cm's) when combining my pistoleer with the smuggler specials and my TKM skills (hehe intimidate, KD, whip out pistol and HS2 or LD works well
)
It is a pity that the whole pistoleer line has less working specials than the smuggler DF line
Won't drop it qnytime soon ![]()

Ive been a pistoleer since I picked up the game a few days after launch. Although for the longest time I was always just 0404. Mastered it in november and will not drop it anytime soon. I enjoy the gunslinger mentality... not to mention it combos so well with Smuggler.
