Thread: Master Pistoleer with a bit of Bounty Hunter?
I have to agree with the previous post. Right now, the most effective pistol user is an Expert BH / Rogue.
That combo has more speed and accuracy than a master pistoleer, a ranged knockdown, a stun and dizzy attack, a shot which targets the mind pool, and the best pistol in the game.
The downside is a distinct lack of defenses, no cert for the geo blaster and no cert for the new DE-10 that is coming out. It also takes a whole lot more skill points.
I've played both sides of the fence here and my current template is Master Pistoleer with Bounty Hunter 3 0 4 0. I learned very fast that Master Bounty Hunter just plain sucks - especially in the pvp ring. To answer your question you need to know just what you want the strong points of your character to be. If PVE is your thing then YES ... the LLC line is a good thing to have. It gives you the power of a strong attack using no specials at all at so so speed. You can usually hit for a minimum of around 1000 or so using just the default attack. Using LLC single 2 you can dish out anywhere from 5000 to 8000 damage but has a very slow fire rate. Remember this is for pve now. As the others have stated, LLC in pvp is a death wish.
If pvp is your thing then you must get the bh pistol line. Every shot will connect with your awesome accuracy and every special you throw down range will be at the speed cap of one shot per second even the slow stopping shot. All this with added dodge and defense vs. mods will make you a very deadly opponent even against those darn defensive stackers. Plus you get the certs for the new pistols out there. I have personally found this to be the best template you can have wielding a pistol - even better than m pistol/rouge. The damage per second and constant connecting shots make this a winner pvp or pve. Get your self a good krayt scatter and a good geo blaster and woohoo !!! Hope this helps
