Yes it works very well in PvP.... if you have ranged support 4 and suppression then the two moves make a good combination in that you can make the player kneel for a vital few seconds while you get close enough for a knockdown.

Just be aware that there are a few templates that have quite high defense Vs knockdown.

This may be a stupid question but does pistolmeleedefence1 & 2 do kinetic damage or whatever pistol you are using? I noticed that pistolmeleedefence 2 does not knock down but it busts up rancors pretty good. Not as fast as healthshot but it sure does feel good pistolwhipping those things. I get about 1000 damage to them and it almost always hits the the red bar with some green mixed in..

All pistoleer moves you do will hit with the damage type of the gun you are using... if you use a DX2 all your attacks do acid damage, and if you use a republic blaster you will be doing energy damage.

PistolMeleeDefense2 has no special attack but you are right, it does do nice damage at decent speed.

The down side is it that it does damage to a random HAM bar (and we have plenty of moves that do that), which is why we all tend to spam healthshot2 as it consistently hits the same pool.

Is the damage for pmd based on your weapon damage? So you could take an acid damage gunthat does50-100 damage when fired, and hit someone else with it and it would do acid damage at 50-100 X whatver multiplier?

The modifiers to PistolMeleeDef1 are 2.3x delay speed at 2.9x damage modifier.

The modifiers to PistolMeleeDef2 are 2.5x delay speed at 4.1x damage modifier. If you have a good speed rating, this will deal quite a bit of damage.

I'm fairly certain they register in the game as point blank ranged attacks, even though they appear to be melee graphically. No testing has been done on it, however.

I have been using pmd2 a lot lately because I have a friend leveling and I dont want to steal too much xp. PMD2 seems to hit health the most by far. Its a speedy little thing. Not the best shot we have but it sure is fun to use. Does anyone know if I were to buy some the accuracy food if the kd piece would work better?

Yes i just trained that skill last night and yes PMD2 is a knockdown, but it does not work as often as PMD1 in PVE. PMD1 is a great skill. It works very well agains mid to some high level mobs. I was using PMD1 on level 46 mobs and it worked 100% of the time. It also works very well againts Jantas and Mokks.

Well I have been trying it on Enraged Rancors and it has never landed... PMD2 that is. PMD1 rarely lands on them. I guess thats to be expected..
