Thread: Speed Enhancements, Caps, and Skills
1) What is the +pistol speed cap (is there one?)
2) what is the fastest I can fire specials at (I think this is 1 second)
3) Can I reach the (1 second?) speed cap with specials like stopping shot, fan shot, and Last ditch.
4) what speed mod/pistol speed would I need to have to hit the speed cap with these specials.
Another Question: Can someone please explain to me how defense works? Like, I have seen something about a patch making defense not stack. What does that mean? Do I still get defenses from TKA when I have a pistol equipped? What are the defense caps for Pistoleer and do they change as I add different professions? If so, How do they change?
I'm sorry if this post is insanely redundant and I would be more than happy if I was just given a link to a post that could answer my questions. Also I know enough about math that if someonoe gives me a formula I can figure it out. I also apologize if this post is completly incoherent. I will try to clarify if anything you cant understand.

i can answer the questions about speed .
the way the speed equations in the game work , if you have a pistol speed mod of +100 then you can fire any special , using the slowest possible weapon at the cap of once per second . therefore having pistol speed greater then +100 is overkill .
as things stand a master pistoleer ( without master marksmen ) gets +74 pistol speed . with this pistol speed mod you will only be able to fire last ditch / stopping shot once per second if you have a weapon that is 1.0 speed . with a regular republic or dx-2 that is 2.5 speed you will fire stopping shot once every 2.6 seconds .
with +90 pistol speed you will fire stopping shot and last ditch with a 2.5 speed weapon at the cap of 1 shot per second . i recently acquired a de-10 pistol that is 3.6 speed , i can fire any special at once per second because i have +93 pistol speed .

$speed = ($S * $D) * ((100 - $P)/100.0)
speed: the actual rate between attacks, in seconds. caps at 1.0
S: the speed rating of the weapon you are using
D: the delay modifier of the special attack you are using. This is speed multiplier for how long you have to wait in between attacks.
P: Your character personal weapon speed modifier. For example, a +30 rifle speed modifier.
