Thread: Some help with my HAM.

Hello all. I started SWG as a Brawler with the intent of becomming a Master Smuggler. Somewhere along the line, I got sidetracked into Master Architect and then took office of the city I helped build. All in all, it's been a great ride. A while back, I mastered Architect with my alt so I can return to my Smuggler quest. Over this time, I've come to appreciate what Pistoleer can add to a Smuggler's bag of tricks. So here I stand, a retired Architect and current Mayor with a blaster in my hand. Now for the questions.
I've noticed that when I use my specials, I take Mind damage. With that and my Smuggler abilities in mind, what would you all suggest for a good spread on my HAM?
It seems that I take more damage when I do different specials. Is there a way to determine how much HAM I'll take to do a special?
With 250 skill points, I can go Master Smuggler, Master Pistoleer, 3/3/4/4 Politician. I've considered taking the Force quests and getting the Luck tree to improve my loot. How much of a difference would Force enhanced Pistol Speed make?
Speaking of Pistol Speed, how can I tell what my blasters speed will be after my skill are taken into account versus the blasters speed?
I'm not sure if it will make a difference or not, but I primarily do PvE. The only time I go into PvP is if I'm Overt due to a scan and I get attacked by an Imperial player. I'm also not out to hunt and solo Krayt's or anything like that.

well...Its all deteremined on your Focus... There is a mind cost on your weapons, and that is multiplied by a modifier (different for each special) And then modified by your CURRENT focus...i.e. if you are wearing armor its whatever your focus is after the armor takes its chunk.
If your Focus is high enough...it negates the mind cost...just as if your Strength and Quickness are high enough you have no Health and Action costs...(you normally would but most people are buffed when they fight so the cost is negated by the high Str. and Quick.) So Upping your Focus is a good thing...ming is actually 800 at the moment I consider it my most important stat especially when I was a triple master because TK has horrid mind costs...Pistoleer isnt as bad...but you need to up your focus to get those special costs down...Also of course are the foods Brandy and Canape and Ahrisa...Brandy and Ahrisa are great because you can pop 1 of each and get about 800 added to your focus for 45 minutes...by the time it wears off you have an empty stomach ready for more

on the other question...get your pistol speed (74 if master and no tapes and no master marksman or BH) and get your pistols stats and youll get tons of info here...

Thanks a ton for all the help there LordMaxx. As for how I got sidetracked...
Well, remember the royal pain in the ass Unarmed was back when SWG started? I got bored with it and met an Architect who was looking for a miner to help him out. I'd been grinding Unarmed and Pistol for quite a while and just wasn't having any fun with it. Once I got set up with some harvester for my friend, I started asking about how Artisan worked. It seemed interesting and I am a Star Wars fan at heart so once I got there, Architect, with the ability to make something that could become part of the SW universe, I was hooked. I helped build our city as an Architect and when our founding mayor steped down, I took over running the city. Like I said, it's been a fun trip but an odd one to be sure!
