Is it me or does it seem pistols at any circumstance is a rough grind. People say start out with bh pistols even at that getting bh pistols xp without pistooler SUX ! .. maby its me but i can master a melee profession in 1 - 2 days.. pistooler has taken 3 days and not close to master.. Any tips or hints or tricks to the pistol xp world ? .. if so please state your opinion if not. Then this is the grind from hell.

Last time I did it got me a nice BE cl10 pet with good kinetic resists...have him attack a huurton huntress/stalker lair while I spam fanshot... (I went straight up the tech tree)

Took me about 3 days total I guess from no marksman to master...but have a really good scout, and a very good republic helped.

also I found that Seething Bols are excellent to attack if you have a prenerf fwg5...krayt even... Ive got a really nice 1.0 spd high max damage fwg5 and seething bols who are vulnerable to heat have been dropping like flies...being able to heal my own disease though has helped...

Wasn't bleed XP nerfed so that it no longer gives XP recently? If so, might want to avoid and bleed moves for grinding. And the bleeding republic blaster.

Holocron Jedi are certainly the best to talk about what are hard profession grinds. I haven't tried every profession and only mastered 4 (MBH, M. Pistol, M. Scout, & M. Marksman). Of the ones I have tried, the Investigation grind was the worst (I did 99% of it with all the aweful aweful bugs, white con marks, little-no armor, no swoops, etc.)followed byScout (it was very slow because I did it all on my own without buddies tostand in my camps and mask scent was useless). LLC & Pistol were the easiest for me.

Get a decent acid pistol and one good special, armor and buffsand you'll fly through Pistoleer. Make sure you go after things with low to no resists to whatever dmg type weapon you have. Can't say I've tracked where I get the most xp the easiest, but Endor's a good spot and isn't crowded. No, pistoleer won't fly as easily as a melee profession, but it's not as bad as some others.

Yep, Pistoleer is one of the longer grinds.

Our specials attack the largest HAM bar (on average) while our weapons do the least amount of ranged damage (on average).

It'll just take time - follow the above suggestions.

Is not like TKM where you can go from TKN to TKM in 6 hours. It can be done in a few days though with a nice dx2 and killing lots of stuff fast. You might want to try a few caves/poi to get lots of things to kill at once. After you have fan shot try going to the squill cave and you should go through xp fast.

Not for me cause I spent this gameshoneymoon shooting pistols so it was fun to me- pistols for PVE. Brawler XP was the grind for me.

here is an idea. perhaps not a great one, but an idea none the less.

there is an AWEFUL lot of talk in the FS forums about using C12 grenades to 'grind' FS XP because you get pure Cobat XP for using the grenades.

why not use the grenades to climb up the Pistol Special Techniques branch which has Pistol Speed in it? as i understand it, you get something like 5k combat XP per Huurton or Quenker (pick your poison) lair. 5,000 combat XP per lair will put you up the Pistol Special Techniques branch pretty dern fast...

again, just a thought.

Let me see if I get this, since you can't Master Pistoleer in 1-2 days it is considered a hard grind? Sorry, but that statement is ridiculous. I find it completly assinine that ANY prof can be mastered that quickly.

I started this game a couple weeks after launch, when buffs and armor were rare/nonexistant and it took me MONTHS to go from Novice Marksman to Master Pistoleer amd I had fun doing it. Becasue it took me so long and I did not grind it I felt a sense of accomplishment whenever I got a new skill box. Of course I did other things and tried other profs along the way so that slowed me down a bit.

So many people complain that there a ton of things wrong with this game and there is so little to do, well no wonder. If people grind to master of an elite prof in less than a week no wonder they get bored. Lets do some math. Not including hybrid profs we have the following combat professions: Brawler, TKA, Swordsman, Fencer, Pikeman, Marksman, Pistoleer, Carbineer, and Rifleman. That gives us 8 combat professions. Assuming that you take as long as four days to grind through any of them you can become master in all of them in two months. If, as the original poster states, most can be grinded in as little as one to two days you can master all of them in one month. Is it just me or does that seem a little silly?

Slow down, have fun and try not to make the end result of your game the ability to play in godmode.

Huurton stalkers are vulnerable to acid damage.

I get buffs, get sologroup, and do 2 missions at a time for Huurton stalkers.

I get about 70k xp per mission if I'm in a full group, and that's 140k xp per mission run.

It's very very easy.
