Thread: The worst grind
Took me about 3 days total I guess from no marksman to master...but have a really good scout, and a very good republic helped.
also I found that Seething Bols are excellent to attack if you have a prenerf fwg5...krayt even... Ive got a really nice 1.0 spd high max damage fwg5 and seething bols who are vulnerable to heat have been dropping like flies...being able to heal my own disease though has helped...

Wasn't bleed XP nerfed so that it no longer gives XP recently? If so, might want to avoid and bleed moves for grinding. And the bleeding republic blaster.

Is it me or does it seem pistols at any circumstance is a rough grind. People say start out with bh pistols even at that getting bh pistols xp without pistooler SUX ! .. maby its me but i can master a melee profession in 1 - 2 days.. pistooler has taken 3 days and not close to master.. Any tips or hints or tricks to the pistol xp world ? .. if so please state your opinion if not. Then this is the grind from hell.
Holocron Jedi are certainly the best to talk about what are hard profession grinds. I haven't tried every profession and only mastered 4 (MBH, M. Pistol, M. Scout, & M. Marksman). Of the ones I have tried, the Investigation grind was the worst (I did 99% of it with all the aweful aweful bugs, white con marks, little-no armor, no swoops, etc.)followed byScout (it was very slow because I did it all on my own without buddies tostand in my camps and mask scent was useless). LLC & Pistol were the easiest for me.
Get a decent acid pistol and one good special, armor and buffsand you'll fly through Pistoleer. Make sure you go after things with low to no resists to whatever dmg type weapon you have. Can't say I've tracked where I get the most xp the easiest, but Endor's a good spot and isn't crowded. No, pistoleer won't fly as easily as a melee profession, but it's not as bad as some others.
there is an AWEFUL lot of talk in the FS forums about using C12 grenades to 'grind' FS XP because you get pure Cobat XP for using the grenades.
why not use the grenades to climb up the Pistol Special Techniques branch which has Pistol Speed in it? as i understand it, you get something like 5k combat XP per Huurton or Quenker (pick your poison) lair. 5,000 combat XP per lair will put you up the Pistol Special Techniques branch pretty dern fast...
again, just a thought.

I started this game a couple weeks after launch, when buffs and armor were rare/nonexistant and it took me MONTHS to go from Novice Marksman to Master Pistoleer amd I had fun doing it. Becasue it took me so long and I did not grind it I felt a sense of accomplishment whenever I got a new skill box. Of course I did other things and tried other profs along the way so that slowed me down a bit.
So many people complain that there a ton of things wrong with this game and there is so little to do, well no wonder. If people grind to master of an elite prof in less than a week no wonder they get bored. Lets do some math. Not including hybrid profs we have the following combat professions: Brawler, TKA, Swordsman, Fencer, Pikeman, Marksman, Pistoleer, Carbineer, and Rifleman. That gives us 8 combat professions. Assuming that you take as long as four days to grind through any of them you can become master in all of them in two months. If, as the original poster states, most can be grinded in as little as one to two days you can master all of them in one month. Is it just me or does that seem a little silly?
Slow down, have fun and try not to make the end result of your game the ability to play in godmode.
