if they gave us the ability to use pistol whip according to pistol speed it would greatly help in pvp instead we cant even get a knock down with it against a jawa.will that be adressed

This has been an issue for a looooooong time now along with the rest of our specials.....Quess SOE will start fixing stuff if they start seeing canceled subcriptions =(

Hoyle, we have many broken pistoleer specials, such as pistol melee defense 2. We don't know when or how they are gonna address these problems, or if they actually will. We just have to wait, and let time be our judge.

And by 'soon' you mean in the combat upgrade that we'll hopefully see by the end of January? I gave up on pistoleer a month or two ago when I tried out Master Pistoleer, Novice Commando, BH 0 0 4 0, and Smuggler 0 0 4 0 in JTL beta and I couldn't outperform myself as a regular master swordsman. I suppose it's not too shabby for one-on-one pvp, but that's not my cup of tea. I just hope they fix this profession so I can go back to pistoleer. I hate being melee.

James brings up a good point which I have not really heard anyone mention.
Will the CU eliminate the ability of anyone to solo high end mobs (for those interested in collecting loot)?
I know each profession will get a specific role, but what will those roles be? WIll it be damagers, tankers, healers, state droppers, dotters? That basically is what we have now.
Or will everyone have an equal chance to defeat a PvE mob, but through different means.
Personally, I enjoy grouping to go after high end mob, others enjoy soloing, the new system cannot satisify this, otherwise, there willbe an imbalance. With PvP all going to the high end damagers.
Back on topic, as for pw2, are we even sure it is broken? I don't recall ever really seeing a statement that it was, as far back as I remember (August 2003) it was always the way it is now, more damage than pw1 but with no kd. It definately needs to be improved, as it doesn't do much as is (although I suually use it in close range over pbs1 and 2).

I honestly think it couldn't get any worse....unless they transform my Geo blaster from firing rings of sonicpulsesto a stick and a flag that says "Bang"

I would be extremely pissed if after a year a Dev finally came out and said "Oh, btw, Melee defense 2 works as it was designed to. We never meant it to knock down." This is a perfect example of how bad SOE is at communicating with the player base. Pistoleer has had broken specials since the initial beta test even before release. The VERY least SOE could do is come out and validate what exactly is broken and what isn't broken. Maybe they have... But, all I've seen is vague statements like "We are aware that there are some issues regarding Pistoleer specials. We are diligently trying to give the much needed attention to all these issues." This is not an exact quote... Just an example of the kind of politician styled answers we get from them. Usually when we do get an answer, very seldom is it a thorough answer that covers all our questions about the issue. I would be happy even if they said "The following specials do not work as intended: blah, blah, blah. These specials will be fixed with the upcoming combat upgrade. We also hope to make changes to the following pistoleer issues: blah, blah, blah." Would this be too much to ask for?

carefull with that, you could poke someone in the eye with it and thats a no-no, BH's are the only ones allowed to hit the mindbar with a pistol
It's all gonna get better. Post CU/R/B our specials will all have a use. A "usefull" use, and not like "BS3 usefull" where someone has to do a pile of research to find the proper time/place/lunar alignment where the usefullness shows up.
Regardless of wheather PMD2 is "broken"-not functioning as intended, or "broken"-not usefull in it's intended state, the fix is on the way. It won't be like it is for long.
