I always thought it should be a Melee attack, in that it would bypass Ranged Damage Mitigation and be effected by Melee Damage Mitigation, Melee Defense and so on... in fact I'm not even sure that it doesn't.

If PM2 worked that is, would be fun to run up to a rifleman and batter them to death with the butt of your pistol.

i think it shouldnt be blocked either, it should count as a melee attack, but alas it does not

Its a melee attack jedi should not be able to block that.
