Heres the deal, me and a friend are both in pistoleer tree but he seems to do more dmg than me even though I am further up or equal to him in the tree. We tested it 1 day, both using bodyshot2 and we used the same gun, I did 400 dmg max (I dont get this as often as he hits 500), he did 500ish dmg max and we tested for quite a while. We have same things in marsksman, both my accuracy and speed are a little higher the only area we havent really discussed is character stats (we are both human tho).

The only thing I can think of is that I started out in swg as a scout but there is no numbers to suggest this would make any difference whatsoever.

how is each or your secondary stats? id assume strength is a factor in damage output.

No idea. Only suggestion I can give is to run 40 shots or so and average it. Very odd indeed if that's how it's working. From what we know of game mechanics, it would have to be some hidden modifier, which doesn't hold a lot of promise, since that would probably be related to # of pistoleer skills, which you seem to have more of.

I will do some dillgence and go test BS2 vs my partner who has only marksman pistol3 later today

I have parsed 100's of logged shots and I have never seen anything like what you are describing. Here is my info on dmg:

A default shot will do 1.5 times as much as is printed on the gun itself. So a 50 - 100 dmg weapon will hit for 75 - 150dmg when no special is used.

Some states like intimidated drop your damage by a huge amount, even bringing your minimum down below the level printed on the gun (so while intimidated you could hit for under 50 with the gun that usually hits for 75-100). Now I haven't tried messing with my stats so it is possible that the trendline is only flat for my particular set of statistics, but it has been logged for many skill boxes as I have progressed through Pistoleer, so I don't think skills has anything to do with it.

The distribution of damage within your damage range is totally even. It is not skewed towards one end as you become more accurate or against certain mobs. The slope of the trendline for all my logged shots was0 (flat).

Body Shot 2 will hit for twice as much damage as your non-special hit, so the 50 - 100 weapon that usually hits for 75 - 150 (with no special) will BS2 for 150 - 400 damage.

You sure he wasn't sneaking in BS3 shots while you stuck to BS2?

Oops, this sentence was supposed to go at the end of the damage distribution paragraph:

Pasted it in the wrong place.

Were you using the exact same gun or just two versions of the same gun? Were weapon powerups involved? Were you fighting the exact same mobs?

Was armor involved?

I am well up the pistoleer tree and I am still only doing about 400 dmg with a 40-160 fwg5 with bodyshot2, this cannot be normal can it?

Sounds about right to me. I usually do slightly less (and very rarely more) with a good scout blaster and BS2

Your maximum hit with BS2 would be about 480 with that pistol.
