I'm doing my very best, but frankly I think we're extremely low on the Devs' list of priorities. I think there are a couple of reasons why. First, because there are so many "Novice Pistoleers" they assume that the profession must already work. Second, the uber pistol templates using skills from other professions make people think that the Pistoleer profession is overpowered. I spend most of my time on Correspondent Forum responding to posts saying that Master Pistoleer is overpowered, etc. The reality is that people don't take a look at the actual skills and assume that anyone using a pistol is a "Pistoleer."
I think the Devs are doing a better job of responding to concerns, and ThunderHeart is a very good addition. LikeI said, though, I'm not optimistic that we're getting fixed any time soon. 
I've presented all of the issues to them in my State of the Profession Report, and they will be responding to those soon,so hopefully that will be our chance to get a lot of our broken abilities fixed.

You can remain in the pistoleer profession because:
A) You think wielding a pistol and being a Master Pistoleer is really cool
B) You hope that evenutally things will get fixed
C) You want to have high pistol speed and combine that with either BH Pistol or Smuggler Pistol
Choice C) is the preferred choice of a new generation.
I however chose A) and B).
However, your sig says a lot...perhaps you should read it.
