I was a master pistoleer before the Holo-grind rage began and I found that the specials did not all work and the dodge ability was broken or not working for me. I also remember the lack of any weapons with high damage numbers that gave me a DPS near the other combat professions.

Any how I was wondering if any of this is fixed because I would like to return to Master Pistoleer.

No, they haven't really fixed the specials in pistoleer since than. You can count on a massive overhaul after the combat revamp though, pistoleer should be very competitive than.

The state of the pistoleer is bad. It stinks. Devs eat too many bananas ( was calling them monkeys)

Yes, pistoleer is only for the few that have the patience to wait-it-out in hopes that eventually we'll get some quality changes to the profession which, more or less, means they fix all the bugged specials and give us specials equivalent to other combat professions so we can feel like there is at least a semblance of balance in this game when it comes to combat...not that I am bitter or anything.
