Pistoleer Archive
Thread: Been gone for 5 months and could use a little tiny bit of help. Thanks in advance.
I havn't played SWG since around the vehical publish, and was wondering if there's been any changes, improvements to pistoleer.
If someone could answer a few of my questions and point me to a list of fixes and updates in the last 5 months that would be great.
Where's a summery of changes to pistoleer in the last few months?
WHere's a summery of changes to combat in general in the last few months?
What's the geonosean (SP?) blaster? What's it good for?
Is the republic blaster working correctly and is it any good?
Have any other pistols been added/changed. (I heard the FWG was ganna be nerfed about when I quit)
Are newer pistols any better than my 5 month old ones?
Any NEW bugs in the five months?
Have pikeman or carbiner been fixed yet?
Thanks everybody!!!

Changes yes, improvements, not all of them.
PvP is about mind. Combat medics rule PvP, followed by all professions who can either deal mind damage or have godly defenses (FOTM is fencer/doc right now I think) Don't know what the state was when you left, but now adays you can solo every single creature in the game, with the right professions. Pistoleer isn't one of them.

Everyone has composite in PvP, at first most compo suits had only one vulnerability, STUN. That was when Rifleman was FOTM, because of headhit3 and the Jawa Ion (stun damage.) The Geo Blaster deals stun damage and is a better gun than the tangle, a good version costs around 300-500k, it's schematic is found as a rare loot in the geo-dungeon. Nowadays most armorsmiths have stocked up the right ressources and everyone has compo with stun layer. So no vulenrability. Combat medics deal 100% (no PvP reduction, no armor reduction, exploits with range, speed cap, 1k dots, area effect etc) so they kill everyone.
It's still a good weapon, occasionally you find someone without stun compo and without the new shields with stun resist.

Yes, and yes, although the fixed DX2(yes they fixed it) is better IMO. The FWG has not nerfed but fixed, now it's worse though. So you could call it a nerf.
Are newer pistols any better than my 5 month old ones?
Some may be, the DX2 I guess.
Any NEW bugs in the five months?
Don't think so.
Have pikeman or carbiner been fixed yet?
Carbine yes, they fixed a couple specials, pikeman block is still broken AFAIK.
Thanks everybody!!!

Pikeman block has been made a counter attack and works fine, but the animation fires off at random occasionally preventing attacks and movements just as our dodge animation once did. They are blocking though. They even have a x4 damage multiplier on polearmhit3 now. The only thing broken in pikeman now is the fact that the energy lance stopped dropping back in march, oh and the weapon switch delay will kill them if they have looted dot weapons.
Carbineer's "fix" was questionable. I was a carbineer (well, a BH but I liked my carbines) at the time of the "fix" I logged on after the patch, which was imperial crackdown if I remember correctly and the servers were down for nine hours to load it. But besides, I logged in to use my carbineer specials that I took with BH and found that although some were fixed, legshot3 is still legshot2, simple to fix but left un-looked at. And they also upped the ham costs at least 15%, probably to "balance" the fact their moves actually do something. Their ham costs were bad enough as it was, FKD cost me 200+ham unarmoured with a quickness of 650, pre-patch 300 afterwards. Also the heavy weapons ham costs were fixed at the same time, pre-patch they didn't seem to have a ham cost at all.
