Well, my dedication to Pistoleer over the past few months has been boundless. I love the profession because of the speed and power my template gives me (Smuggler/Pistoleer) but also because of RP aspects it provides.
I became a Master Ranger/Rifleman at release and from there I moved on to Bounty Hunter. Obviously, I spent a lot of time running around in the woods kill MOBs/NPCs and other abbreviations. Not a ton of time for PvP. Now that I've settled in on my Master Pistoleer and Smuggler (and TKM), I've found more interest in PvP and dueling.
I've done a few duels within my guild and I am appalled at Pistoleer right now. Both were fully buffed and armored duels:
The first duel I did was versus a Fencer/TKM (which I knew I was not going to win). I barely even scratched him. This is not because of the damage I was doing, oh no. The problem was I could not even make contact with my opponent. I didn't know that it was possible for a Master Pistoleer, at a standstill, to miss a target so many times, even if that target IS a Fencer/TKM.
Another duel was versus a straight Master Rifleman. While we ran circles around each other, he slowly chipped away at my mind pool. I pulled out everything that Pistoleer and Smuggler had to offer on his Health and found it quickly regenerated within a few seconds. I was using a Mod. Republic Blaster that capped out at about 290 dmg and was firing at the speed cap.
Now granted that gun was no Geo, but it was still high-end. I guess I am just a little shocked that I, as a Pistoleer, did so poorly in comparison to another Player. Pistoleer couldn't be as impotent as I have seen it of recent, could it?
I hope I am not coming off as acidic or angry. I am the last person to say anything bad about Pistoleers.

In my experience, unless your mind is buffed and capped on canape you'll go down by the rifleman...nice how they can focus their hits on the smallest non-healable pool, huh?
My chances with a TKM/Fencer are 50/50 . . depends on if they can catch me and do a dizzy which knocks me down b4 i can heal it (master doc). If i can stay on my feet and run cirlces around him spamming Fan Shot hoping the randomness hits their mind or he has weak armor, then he will go down. . . all depends on how good the opponent is.
