I purchased this weapon and it said I don't have the skills to use it properly.

Dumb question but...what skills do I need anyway?

Currently I'm in the novice marksman tree with expert everything except carbine, about 50,000 points away from specialist.

I believe you dont get certed for FWG5s tell pistol specialist. So get one level in pistol and you will be able to use it.
