I must be missing something. Because I read on the boards here about people kiting 11 Jaxs on endor, a dozen Kimas on Talus and wasting them all with ease.
Well, i am totally lost then. any more then 2 Kimas and I am running the heck out of there.
...I am a novice pistoleer with enough points to get my first box beyond the novice, I have all the ranged weapon support (from marksman). So what am I doing wrong? What strategies are the elite using? Do i need specific combos queued?
Right now my basic strategy is "Aim" "Bodyshot2" "Bodyshot2" "Bodyshot2" "Bodyshot2"..etc.
Any help would be grand! Us pistoleers need to stick together!

Ok, here's what you do with single targets. Go prone and hit whatever you're targetting with body shot 1 and 2. At this point I stand up (cause I go LD a lot and if you go LD when prone you're definitly getting incapacitated). After that, bodyshot 2 if you want or just attack. If the creature is fast start running when it charges at you. Wait until it's about, say, 30m away and start warning shot it until it runs. The moment it turns, hit peace on the radial menu. The easy way to do this is to have the radial menu open while you're firing warning shots at it by hitting the ` key (to the left of the one key) and hit 2 after it turns. After that, run after it so you are 80m away (they run 120m away from you usually which will take you out of combat which occationally make the creature disappear). After the health shots pulse, the beast will come at you again so you repeat the shooting, the running, and the warning until it's dead.
Multiple quick targets get a bit tricky. You basically have to follow the above steps while warning shooting the extra mobs. I usually just warning shot extra quick mobs away so I can focus in on single targets.
For multiple slow targets, I health shot (1 & 2) one creature, shoot it to 3/4 health, then move to the next beast. You have to shoot a little bit or you won't get the xp as the health shot damage apparently doesn't register as damage you have caused the beast. Personally, I try to limit the the amount of creatures I kite to 4 but again that's because I go LD a lot.
So there you go, that's my tactics for beasts. My tactics are pretty much the save for NPCs (IE dealing with quick beasts) though I will usually bodyshot2 them down instead of just attacking since if they're shooting back they have a chance of giving me wounds.
Hope this helps.

Also, the kimas (on Talus at least) are really really slow.
Just walk away from them while shooting. ![]()

Hmm, sorry about my post. Formatting looked much better when I posted it.

If you get a lot of slow creatures, dot them all (health shot 1/2) and just kite around. Dot will drain them all slowly, and after a while they all die at about the same time and you collect your 10-30k exp.

... and occassionally i'll notice that my DoT's have worn off on a trailing target, so I just hit 'em with it again while kiting around. I just cycle through the trailing targets periodically to make sure they're all still bleeding.

Aye,
I learned this myself fighting rabbit types...the Jax creatures are really really slow...just heath shot em and make sure they continue to bleed.

I see Dot in many posts. I am not yet to pistoler, what does Dot mean?

DoT = Damage over Time.
It takes away a bit of health every 'tick' on the server. I believe that is a couple of seconds on the SWG setup. Healthshot is a DoT. You shoot it and it causes them to bleed away life over the course time.
