Thread: Isolating and culling a pack animal?

I just read Mameluke's comment re doubletap and the idea of hit and run destroy missions, which reminded me to ask, is there a reliable way to isolate a single animal from a group of pack attackers? So very much of what I see attacks by pack.

Sigh, I guess there is no reliable way to do this...

I haven't really found an effective way to do that yet. The only thing I have done that works sometimes is to shoot one and see how many of the others "light up". When the rest of them light up, take off running. There always seem to be one that will follow you a lot farther then the rest of them do. When the others stop, turn around and attack that one that chased you the farthest. In my experiences, the rest of them don't aggro you if you attack the one that chased you the farthest.

I'm not sure if this is a technique or just luck, but what I'll usually try if one is standing outa little from the others is get at maximum distance (64) from him, so that all the others are out of range, then shoot once. A lot of times the others won't aggro.

Warning shot usually makes things turn tail and run, as long as you don't shoot them a second time.
