I've heard everyone talking of kiting feral banthas and the like north of mos eisley... How far away from Eisley must one travel to reach the beasts?

Banthas are super easy to take down since theyre so **edit** slow, but I haven't found a fixed spawn yet. The only Bantha's I've ran into are roaming spawns and are never in the same place from one day to the next.

yep, rarely same place - I've found them south of Mos Eisley, out in the wilds of the Bestine/Wayfar region, etc.

there's a battlefield in that area that I've been able to find them at semi-regularly, but that's about it.

I usually see the banthas I fight around Mos Espa. Never in the same place really. I just take a couple missions and do them and hope to find some on the way to or from town.

Feral banthas are quite easy, less than 1k HAM usually. That being said warning shot will not make them run away, and if they incap you, they will kill you, every time.

Rogue banthas are easy too even at novice pistoleer because they run quite nicely away when you hit them with warning shot (usually), unless they get lucky and continually hit the same HAM pool you'll survive even if they don't run a few times.

I beg to differ on warning shot....I've never had any problems with it...thing is using anything else instantly makes em turn, so I just alternate between warning shot and something else.

Also I've seen them north and slightly east of Wayfar. If you happen to have some Scout capabilities, any traps that enhance ranged damage effects will let you make mince meat of em.

Something to add to all this talk.

1) Any Bantha, even the matriachs respond fine to warining shot.

2) If you can't run and shoot without them catching youtake of your freakin armor off! I can kill and make 20K exp in less then an hour without being hit once. Also gives you a plus with you ham and regen. Armor has its uses but for hunting these things it isnot even needed.

3) Ferals are the best when it comes to shots needed vs exp given.

4) Look for a rock they like to spawn by. You can camp em for an hour easy.

5) There are better things to hunt. Try the big dumb game on Talus or Rori Tarts' for an example, they give 2K expand are a rush.

Lol, I have a baby Dune Bantha and I can't help but to take it personal when someone's killing them. Heheh what a trip. The warning shot works cause these Bantha's are chickens to any intimidation. My Bantha has 1200 HAM now and even a minor womp rat made him run, lol. Everything makes him run away. I usually have to use my warning shot to make critters stop chasin him. But now, he also has his own intimidate and a take down he used this morning for thefirst time. He's definitely starting to pull his own weight... umm so to speak.

I provide many Woolie Hides for local Vendors. Bantha's are the fastest way to get them along with great XP. I have found a site that Dune Bantha's romp and play every day. I have been there every day for the last 12 days. Every time they are there ready to be picked off and harvested. Usually depending on my poss. three shots and they are dead. Lately, I have traveled a little more east and have seen many Feral Bantha's. One shot is good for them. No warning shot, no suppression shot, just Head-Shot 3.

Location is east of Mos Taike. I apologize that I dont have a /waypoint. Servers are down, but I plan on getting that info to this thread soon.

If you're up for a walk try North, NorthEast of Mos Taike. I prefer fighting Bull Bantha's and Bantha Matriarchs. They're just as slow and give 3 to 4 times the XP. Great for trapping, scout XP and weapon XP.

Sorry guys, came upon this topic with the search option. Did not realize that this Thread was posted in Professions: Pistoleer. I should have posted in Rifleman.

On the other hand.. its still a great spot to go for Bantha's.
