Alright, I am going to sum up what willhappen to pistoleers against other weapon classes when we lose ranged KD-

Bounty Hunters with:

Pistol

Neither class has a pistol knockdown so it will come down to a pure dmg battle. One small detail to note is that eye shot will win this battle for Bounty Hunters hands down because even thoPistoleers may do a little more dmg (debatable) the most damaging special Pistoleers have is a random pool damage so unless a Pistoleer beats the odds and gets 3 perfect shots on Health (and even if they do 1 heal will save BH) they have no chance of beating a BH.

Carbine

This is the easiest one to call, Pistoleer will get 1 shot in this battle before its over, BH's will use their ranged knockdown and then spam undershot (twice max) then its over. Enjoy cloning.

Light Lightning Cannon

Amazing, Pistoleers will actually win this one because its just a pure dmg battle. Congrats.

Carbineer:

Similar to BH Carbine battle, Pistoleer gets 1 shot before getting knocked down and then takes another 2 maximum before cloning.

Rifleman:

Unless Rifleman missthis battle is over in 2-3 shots maximum, if Pistoleer can charge to within melee range and get a KD Pistoleer will win, otherwise it comes down to the random HAM dmg vs Mind dmg scenario.

It is a very sad day when you can only think of 1 scenario where a Pistoleer has a good chance of winning.

Why is that sad? All that has to be done is to round out your skills with rifleman, carabineer, or bounty hunter. That is why there is such a low skill pt cost to get to pistoleer, so you can be more well rounded. It is possible to master two combat professions and come close to mastering a third going this route. That would make you a very powerful combatant able to use specials from all lines. It is not sad. Same is true for rifleman, carabineer, and bounty hunter if they don't like how they are in combat they can use their remaining skill points to round out in another profession. I think that was the intent of the development team to start with. Us being able to pick and choose our skills to be unique to ouselves not carbon copies of everyone else. Just a thought.

We're doomed. This game ends the day they apply rules to knockdown. I might as well go play Tetris.

I hate to say it, since I'm a doctor myself, but how in the world are we supposed to kill anyone who has the money to buy nice quality stim B's or the skills to use C's and D's. How do we kill someone with double or triple the normal health/action from doctor buffs or food?

Duel vs BH + novice medic + top quality stimpaks B's = very quick and pathetic death
Duel vs Rifleman + novice medic + top quality stimpak B's = very quick and pathetic death
Duel vs Carbineer + novice medic + top quality stimpak B's = very quick and pathetic death

Anyone with a targetted mind shot, or ranged KD will stomp all over us, and it far worse if they only spend 15 skill points to pick up novice medic.

Yes, I'm a doctor myself, but what's the point of having a huge health and action when my mind pool is half/third the size and I can never get to melee range to use pistol whip once every 30 seconds to maybe stop a heal or two. Note that to get within melee range, I'll have to be moving and we've already been told that shooting while running will drastically reduce accuracy.

All of you people saying that we are "overpowered" I challenge you to provide proof that we are indeed what you claim. After this knockdown nerf, we will be the weakest ranged class hands down. Anyone who thinks otherwise, please show me evidence proving otherwise.
