Hail,

I read everywhere that going over 100 pistol speed is a waste, but if my thought are correct, we need less than 100 to shoot every second.

The pistol speed formula is this one (taken from the FAQ)

Q. How does Pistol Speed work? Is there a cap to pistol speed?
A. (WeaponSpeed * SpecialDelayMod) - (WeaponSpeed * SpecialDelayMod) * (PistolSpeed/100)
And if result < 1.0s , result = 1.0s

So, any speed over +100 does nothing (is overkill) since the minimum attack speed is 1.0 seconds. Yes, that includes with specials.

Let's take for exemple the slowest special move we have, Stopping shot -> SpecialDelayMod = 4.0, a WeaponSpeed of2.0 and let's set that our PistolSpeed is 88

Result = 2*4 - 2*4*88/100 = 0.96 < 1 sec --> shoot every second

Sounds right for you ?

uhm... not really

Where did you get 88pistol speed? At master pistoleer all i can count is 74(not including master marksman's +5)

This is what i got assuming pistol speed is 2 and stopping shot delay is 4.

8-8(74/100)=2.08

expanded for the nerds:

(2x4)-[(2x4)(74/100)]=2.08

Best case senerio I can see is a 1 speed scout(heh good luck with slicing), which would result in firing stopping shot once every 1.04 seconds.

Yes, but folks are talking more generically than just fast pistols with no special attack.

The point is that even a rifleman with a 6 speed rifle using a special attack with a delay multiplier of 2.25, who would shoot once ever 13.5 seconds with no rifle speed skill, will shoot once a second, just like the fasest pistol, with 100 rifle speed (ok, technically with a 93 skill or higher).
