Thread: DX2 pistols not working properly?
It appears that actually ALL AP > 0 weapons are bugged.
They work correctly against mobs that aren't vulnerable to their damage type, but always act like AP0 against mobs that are vulnerable.
So against an AR1 mob, not vulnerable to acid, an AR0 acid weapon does 50% less damage, and an AR1 acid weapon does full damage - AP vs AR is working here.
But against an AR1 mob that IS vulnerable to acid, both weapons will do the same - both will act like AP0 vs AR0.
The same goes for AR0 mobs that are vulnerable to acid - they both act like AP0 vs AR0, so the AP1 weapon is NOT doing an extra 25% damage like it is supposed to.
And it also appears to apply to a large number of the wimpy mobs out there that don't have defined effectivenesses and vulnerabilities.
You are correct, I haven't seen an AP1 weapon do +25% dmg to AR0 opponents, but it does seem to penetrate the AR just fine.
Here's how armor works, quickly: If it has special protection or resists then its AR applies. If it is vulnerable to a dmg type then its AR does not apply.
Example: Arachnes on Endor are medium armor with 20% resist to everything but stun and electricity. Your FWG5 does 20% of its normal damage (50% x 50% x 80% of normal dmg done) your DX2 does 40% normal damage (50% x 80% dmg because it is AP1) and your tangle pistol does full dmg.
For me this means my FWG5 would be 11.8-53, my DX2 is 47.6-90 and my tangle is 44-103 after all the resists are appied. Since my tangle and DX2 have the same speed, it gives me a higher DPS on arachnes.
Powered up this would be even more pronounced (my tangle is 1.9 speed and 49-103 with its powerup.)
