Thread: ranged support needed?
Thanks,
I think WarningShot is the best PvE special in the game ... I use it a lot in PvP against pets, as well.
I dropped range support so I could get the smuggler shot.
Do I miss them: Yes, especially warning and suppression
Do I need them: Not at all. Especially since I have panic shot and low blow

If you do not have pets, keep it.
If you do have pets, drop it, unless you PvP alot in which case you can use it against other people's pets.
I dropped everything except the lowest Ranged Support box with Aim in it, and it's no major loss.
I'm a Master Pistoleer/Master Smuggler with nice Medic and TKA skills, and I can handle 95%+ of enemies by myself (or at least get away alive).
Warning Shot is great, especially if you don't have much firepower in general, but I find that I've become more than deadly enough to simply kill something rather than scare it away. If you abandon Warning Shot, you can pick up almost an entire line of Elite-level skills which will probably help you much more in the long run, especially if you group a lot or have the great escape artist skills of a Smuggler. I may eventually drop Aim if I can find something better to use, because as a Pistoleer, it's generally better to keep moving, anyway.
Yeah, I hear you nomad... was a real eye opening change of gameplay/confidence when I got TKA.
Went from "OMG THEY ARE ON TOP OF ME!!! warning shot warning shot warning shot..."
to
"Equip VK and beat their asses down."

Hehe, yeah, by dropping 3 boxes of Ranged Support, I was able to pick up a full line of TKA. Now, if something rushes me,it's basically become "Shoot 2Bleeds + Intimidate + (pause until they arrive) KD + Blind + Stun + unlimited Unarmed Hit 2s" with whatever rinses and repeats as are necessary, and maybe a Warcry for fun. Having about 50% Unarmed Toughness plus some good Kinetic-resistant armorand thenlaying on the state effects seems to be a good way to avoid up-close damage and whup anything that comes face to face with me.
I can't wait to get the Dizzy/KD in Balance 4. At that point I'll just type /summon and invite enemies to bring it on.
